VIDEO: RHOA 100the Episode Special
It was almost like the ‘Nene Leakes’ show the veteran housewife was the first to be featured on set with Andy in the 100th anniversary special.
Leakes, 47, is joined by a several other RHOA cast members (past and present) to take a trip down memory lane. Topics of discussion include fashion, fights and relationships and the hour long 100th episode of RHOA was well worth the watch!
A look back at RHOA’s 1st reunion…
During the special, Andy revealed that it was Nene who actually brought up the idea of a reunion show during the first season of RHOA because she wanted to confront Kim Zolciak about all of the things that went on during that historic first season.
The season 1 reunion created on of the most epic moments when NeNe and Kim went head to head, sparking the catch phrase ?Close her legs to married men.?
Speaking of which, Kim Zolciak still didn’t reveal the name of ‘Big Poppa’ (her married financier) but the world already knows it was Lee Najjar.
Kim told Andy in the 100th anniversary episode that it took her ?days to get over? the season one reunion and the confrontation.
While we all know that Kim has found the love of her life and has managed to pop out a slew of babies in record time, she was once on the other side of the fence.
Andy brings up Kim’s relationship past and focuses on the ‘bi-curious’ era that occurred between her break up with her married man and her marriage to her baller boo. (click HERE if you missed that).
Kim didn’t seem to pleased to be pressed about her ‘dip in the lady pond’ and counters with an inquiry of her own, asking Andy has he ever ‘dipped’.
RHOA Cast Over the Years Reminisce…
Deshawn Snow appears on the show and reveals how her appearance on the show changed her life. Snow is the only banished cast member that appeared on the special, and rumor has it that Sheree Whitfield and Lisa Wu didn’t tape segments because the money wasn’t right.
Deshawn on the other hand, doesn’t need the dough so she happily obliged with returning to reminisce about her days on the popular show.
As you know, reality shows have been known to break up happy homes and DeShawn’s marriage to retired NBA baller Eric Snow was one of the first RHOA relationships to crumble.
[FLASHBACK: Fan Mail Eric Snow is a ‘Typical Cheating Baller’…]
Deshawn’s marriage ended about a year after she left the show but she appeared happy and healthy as she discussed her days on RHOA.
Kandi Burruss joined the show on season 2 and during the special, she revealed
Some people like to put on airs to show they got money, but with me? I know I got money…
She also revealed that on her first day taping Mama Joyce and how she remembered crying that day when her mom went in on her then fianc?, A.J.
Phaedra Parks joined during season 3 and during the 100th episode special, she reveals that she joined the show because she felt that it needed some ‘real life’ Atlanta added to the cast.
The reason I wanted to join is because at that time, I didn’t think the show was true to what Atlanta was really about… and that was educated Black women with careers. I really didn’t see that beyond Kandi.
During casting, they asked Phaedra about how it would affect her marriage and her explanation was like a premonition of whats to come, as she states, ?The show can bring out the worst in people.?
Porsha Williams talked about appearing on the show and besides the fact that it ruined her marriage, she feels that the show has been the greatest blessing in her life.
[Sidebar: I think she’s right… Porsha is the only ‘housewife’ on the show who didn’t actually have a career. RHOA was/is a great platform for her because without it… where would she be??? But I digress.]
Cynthia Bailey joined during season 2 and she revealed that the first scene she shot with all the housewives was at her home.? During the episode, Bailey admits that her only regret is putting so much of her financial business out there on the show.
Andy speaks about how Cynthia?s mom and sister hid her marriage certificate to prevent her from marrying Peter that season and Bailey admits that after her husband Peter Thomas saw that on TV, it took her a while to convince him she knew nothing about it.
Kenya Moore joined during season 7 and when asked about her, Nene admits that her first impression of the former beauty queen was that she was crazy. (I think we would all agree).
Kenya has been koo-koo for cocoa puffs from day one. From lying about her relationship status to earn a spot on the show (Never Forget: Walter Jackson’s V-103 Interview) to her ‘gone with the wind’ moments, Moore has been koo-koo for cocoa puffs since day 1!
Interestingly enough, Kenya mentioned in her casting tape how she felt Phaedra Parks was ‘pretentious,’ so it’s clear to me that Parks was always her main target.
Moving on.
THE FIGHTS!!!
Sheree vs. Kim
Remember that blowout between Kim, Nene, and Sheree where Sheree pulled on Kim?s weave?! So intense! ?Who does that?!? Kim said to Andy.
Nene vs. Peter
The fight between Nene and Cynthia’s husband Peter turned ugly when she called him the ‘B’ word, and while Cynthia got over it, she admits that Peter never got over it.
That was the end of their friendship. ?I am not going to pick my friends over my husband,? Cynthia explained to Andy.
Nene kinda sorta apologizes, stating: ‘Look… maybe I shouldn’t have called him a bitch, but maybe he shouldn’t have acted like one’
Nene vs. Kandi….
Andy asks Nene who she had the least connection with and she admits it is Kandi Burruss.? The two have bumped heads since the day Kandi joined the cast and no one really knows why.
Kandi admits she never knows where she stands with Nene, stating: ‘sometimes she can be friendly, and sometimes she acts like everybody in the room stinks.’
Nene admits she would never hang out with Kandi in real life because she’s just not her kind of girl… she’s not ‘fabulous’ etc. but we still don’t know why there’s beef between these two.
There was an entire segment dedicated to the ‘wild card’ Kenya Moore and how she’s had conflict with just about everyone on the show. From the pillow talk fight, to battling Phaedra over Apollo, to the reunion show where Porsha finally lost it and dragged Kenya across the floor… it was made blatantly clear that Kenya is the resident sh*t starter.
Kenya admits she has ‘grown’ since joining the show but has she changed for the better? That remains to be seen.
The show ends with Nene Leakes stating that RHOA isn’t going anywhere and they they may be sitting there doing the 200th episode in the future.
