The Real Housewives of Atlanta aired the 10th episode of it’s eighth season last night (January 10, 2016).

Last week we were left reeling in the after affects of Phaedra Parks & Kandi Burruss’s broken friendship.

This week’s episode is titled ‘Trouble On The Family Tree,’ and cameras travel from Atlanta to Detroit for Kenya Moore’s one sided ‘Family Reunion’ and Phaedra also resolves her issues with Todd & Kandi with the help of Mama Joyce.

Bravo synopsis:

Kandi finally begins to slow down as Mama Joyce helps her prepare for her bundle of joy to arrive. Phaedra receives a surprise visit from Mama Joyce and is faced with an offer she can’t refuse. Cynthia is whisked away by Peter on a romantic getaway to rekindle their relationship. Porsha has a tough conversation with her sister Lauren to discuss how her pregnancy is affecting their business. Phaedra and Todd work to settle their financial differences, while Kenya heads to Detroit to reunite with her family and hopefully reconnect with her mother.

When all else fails, send your mom…

Kandi works with Mama Joyce to prepare her home for the arrival of ‘Baby Tucker’ and she confides to her mom that she and Phaedra still aren’t on good terms.

Mama Joyce then decides she’s going to pay Attorney Parks a visit to get things right between the two former BFFs.

During a visit to Phaedra’s office, Mama Joyce originally seems a bit threatening as she tells Parks that Kandi doesn’t need the stress due to her high-risk pregnancy. ? She also enlists Phaedra to throw Kandi’s baby shower, being that Kandi was in the delivery room with Parks during both of her son’s births.

Phaedra accepts the challenge in order to keep the peace.

Romance ain’t dead, your husband’s just scared…

Cynthia enlists her daughter’s help packing for a surprise getaway. ?Apparently Peter called and told his wife to pack some sexy gear so and meet him at the airport for a romantic getaway.

When discussing it with her teen daughter, Cynthia asks Noelle how she feels about the reconciliation and Noelle says ‘when someone makes me mad, I’m One and DONE!’?but Cynthia feels that everyone deserves a 2nd… 3rd… 4th chance.

Bailey is looking forward to the getaway ALONE with her husband, so that they can each make a fresh start toward making their marriage work.

Sisters need medical leave too…

Porsha is having issues with her baby sister, Lauren, being pregnant. ? Lauren is Porsha’s right hand/personal assistant and Porsha is feeling ‘some kinda way’ about how her sister hid her pregnancy from her.

Porsha admits she’s been gaining weight after discovering her sister was pregnant, while Lauren revealed that she didn’t share the news because she knew how much Porsha wanted a baby.

The sisters talk things out, but later, Porsha starts another argument when Lauren reveals she’ll probably be taking more time off from Porsha’s ‘family business’.

Lauren feels it’s ok for her to work from home, while Porsha seems to think that her sister should put her business above having a baby.

Girl… what?

Moving on…

Will Phaedra’s workout video work out?

Phaedra meets with Todd to finalize the details of her?workout video and it seems that they can finally move on from all the drama.

Parks revealed that she has no plans to release the video because she’s not satisfied with the product, but she’s willing to pay Todd the money so that they can all move on.

Even with the resolution, Parks manages to throw her last bit of shade, stating:

I am woman enough to go ahead and squash this, so I can move on.

Cause I’m not crying about a couple of thousand dollars… I have job(s).

It’s a family reunion… (but not really)

Kenya Moore decides to return to her hometown of Detroit to attempt to make amends with her mom. She decides that the best way to do that is to have a family reunion.

Kenya hopes that her mom will attend, even though her Aunt Lori?Sisqo has told her time and time again that her younger sister is not going to budge.

Auntie Sisqo has also flat out REFUSED to give Kenya her mother’s contact information but despite all of that, Kenya decides to pay an unexpected visit to her mother’s home while her Aunt, Father and other random family members all watch the train wreck occur.

As expected, Kenya’s mom refuses to open the door and Moore even hears a faint ‘click’ as her mom makes sure that the door is locked.

RHOA audiences all felt Kenya’s fake pain as she walked back to the van with no results, however in REAL LIFE, Kenya is the one who chose not to speak with her mom.

In several interviews during?Moore’s ‘Miss USA’ days, she admitted that her mother reached out to her several times, but it was KENYA who refused to speak to her mother without an ‘APOLOGY’.

“She said she just wanted to congratulate me,” recalls Moore, at her Westwood, Calif., apartment. “But I didn’t want to talk to her. I’m a very forgiving person. But I’ll only forgive her if she asks for my forgiveness.”

I’ll dig deeper into that in a dedicated post (I promise) but clearly there’s more to the story than Kenya is willing to tell. ?No. It’s not Kenya’s fault that she was born to a mother that didn’t want a child, but there could be other circumstances that we’re not privy to.

Aunt Lori is normally the most sane person in Kenya’s life, and if she feels that Kenya forcing the matter with cameras rolling is an issue, than clearly Kenya should rethink her strategy.

Word on the curb is that Bravo hopes that her return during episode 11 will spark a boost in ratings. ?Coincidentally it’s also the week that the newest ‘housewives’ franchise, Real Housewives of The Potomac airs their premiere episode.
