OK… so it’s the day after Memorial Day. All the BBQ’s are over and yet, the debate still continues about whether a woman should fix her man’s plate or not.
[FLASHBACK: Nightline Face-Off: ‘Why Can’t Successful Black Women Find a Man? (VIDEO)]
The discussion began about a week ago on Twitter and Facebook, when a meme popped up inquiring the following:
Soooooooooooo you are at a barbeque. Your man is hungry. He lets you know he is hungry but you are not the kind of woman to go around ‘fixing plates’ for a man so you ignore him.
A random woman hears this and says, ‘I will fix your plate.’ She sashays away and comes back with a plate for your man.
Do you have any problems with this?
The battle has continued and it’s actually getting quite entertaining. I personally don’t have a problem ‘fixin plates’ but apparently there are a lot of women who feel ‘some kinda way’ about the question even being asked…
Check out what the ‘tweets’ had to say about it all below and share your thoughts…
Judging from the tweets, fixing your man’s plate is not a ‘southern’ thing and it’s not even a ‘Black’ thing. It seems to me to be a simple break down in traditional relationship roles.?? You remember those?? The man takes out the garbage, the woman cooks.? The man takes care of the bills, the woman takes care of the home.? Blah… Blah… Blah.
Times have changed, but some things remain the same.? Your man still wants his plate prepared. 😆
What do you guys think about this debate?
Should You Fix Your Man’s Plate? Or Nah?
