Pour out a lil liquor for my city! According to the AJC, Atlanta has been named the gayest city in America. Now, I know all my coverage of Morehouse Men in Pumps & Dwight Eubanks as the unofficial 6th Atlanta housewife didn’t help any, but DAYUM! I’m seriously sad right now.
No disrespect to the gay community (who I’m sure are poppin bottles right now), but as a straight woman this news is disheartening to say the least.
A few of my friends and I hit up my ustream last night to vent about it live, but our session ended up being Happy Hour once we started poppin bottles….and when our conversation turned to “how many Gay men have you slept with (THAT YOU KNOW OF), we couldn’t do nothing but take a drank!
My city is NUMERO UNO… *sigh*
Georgia isn?t the most gay-friendly state, but Atlanta is undoubtedly our gayest city?with 29 gay bars here, there?s a reason it?s dubbed Hotlanta. Atlanta?s several queer events include one of the nation?s largest Prides in October (returning to Piedmont Park this year), and MondoHomo, a May event celebrating art, drag, burlesque, film, and BBQ. The gay epicenter is Midtown, anchored by Outwrite Books, a giant gay bookstore bucking the national trend?by staying in business! Atlanta guys are hunky, the ladies are gracious, the gay sports leagues are seriously well organized, and its housewives (and their gay BFFs, complete with handbags and heels) are now camp icons. And who doesn?t love the sweet lilt of a Georgia accent on a knockout guy or gal?
It’s all good though. I’ve got some really great gay husbands who keep my wall coverings updated and my face beat, so I ain’t complaining….but shat! We beat San Francisco?

I just heard that my boo Waka Flocka was shot earlier today in an armed robbery attempt. According to sources, he was reportedly injured approached by unknown gunmen while stopping at a gas station off Old National Highway in Atlanta and was told to hand over his chain.
When he refused to give up his jewelry, the suspects fired shots in his direction, hitting him twice. I’m praying for his recovery.

Tiny, who was hot on the party scene while Tip was on lockdown, seems to have been placed on lockdown herself. Her man’s home and you will see none of that party stuff going on. No ma’am! Tip don’t play that!

I dunno what it is…but Dominique Wilkins doesn’t look a day over 49! The former superstar Hawks player/NBA Legend & Hall of Fameer Dominique Wilkins celebrated his big FIVE-Oh last week amongst friends, fans and privy guest.
Dominique’s 50th birthday bash was held at the Gold Room and Lounge and was hosted by music mogul Devyne Stephens of Upfront Megatainment. 100% of the proceeds from the event benefited the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and DeVyne Intervention.
VIP guests including R&B Artist Musiq Soulchild, Joe Johnson and Josh Smith of the Atlanta Hawks all came out to salute the Human Highlight Film.
