The City of Atlanta has officially transition from the great ‘music boom’ of the 90’s to the ‘reality show mecca’ of the new millennium and as evidence of this known fact, ‘Househusband’ Peter Thomas of The Real Housewives of Atlanta has created a new awards show.

Peter invited a few reality stars and several media outlets to his Bar One Restaurant and Lounge last night (April 1, 2013) to make the special announcement.

Thomas, along with Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s Benzino and David Mays (the founders and creators of ‘How Can I Be Down’ Music Conference, The Source Magazine, The Source Awards and Hip Hop Weekly), have teamed up to produce the first ever “UnScripted Reality Awards.”

The UnScripted Reality Awards will honor individuals who star in the plethora of reality shows that entertain and intrigue us.

There is an award show that acknowledges and honors the incredible talent and overwhelming influence of Reality TV Stars. Just as the film community has the Oscars, the music community has the Grammys, and the television community has the Emmys, this award show will bring focus to the genre that is steadily making a huge mark on popular culture.

In addition to Peter and his supermodel ‘housewife’ Cynthia Bailey, several reality show stars came out hoping to score brownie points for an award in support of the new venture, including cast members from Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, The Kandi Factory, Married to Medicine, R&B Divas, Basketball Wives, Big Rich Atlanta and more.
