Cynthia Bailey of The Real Housewives of Atlanta opened up about her plans of divorcing Peter Thomas during her visit to The Essence Music Festival in New Orleans this past weekend.
As you know, Bailey confirmed a few months back that she and Peter were officially separated as they tried to figure out next steps in their relationships (click HERE if you missed that).
Now, after six years of marriage, the RHOA star revealed in a recent interview that she’s ready to proceed with divorce from her husband, whom she says she hasn’t seen in person for five months now.
On the flip side, upon hearing of his soon to be ex-wife’s announcement, Peter reached out to UPTOWN and says he places the blame for the turmoil on their ?individual ambitions.?
He?s also adamant that he never cheated on Bailey and that divorce was never an option for him, but he would?ve preferred if they made a joint public statement about the ultimate demise of their marriage instead of Bailey announcing it to the world during Essence Festival weekend.

New Edition rocked the stage of the 2011 Essence Music Festival and surprisingly ALL 6 members showed up and showed out!
Ricky Bell, Ronnie Devoe, Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant, Michael Bivens and Bobby Brown all hit the stage with a rousing performance.

Starting their set with Can You Stand the Rain, the group surprised the crowd when Bobby Brown hit the stage.
Johnny Gill eventually exited stage left, and Bobby led the group to an old school rendition of “Jealous Girl”…

After their performance, the group discussed what it was like to all be onstage together.? Bobby even shared how difficult it was to re-learn all those all dance moves.

NeNe Leakes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and her husband Greg were spotted boo’d up in the corner of the Belvedere Lounge during the 2011 Essence Festival last weekend (July 2, 2011).
The storyline of next season’s “Housewives” is rumored to be focused on Nene & Greg’s “divorce,” so it’s obvious why the two made sure they weren’t photographed together. If you recall, Lisa Wu-Hartwell was booted from the show after she WOULDN’T pretend there was drama in her marriage, apparently NeNe & Greg have decided to play the game.
Greg sat around looking bored in the corner while NeNe left to pose on the red carpet…
