When Jazmine Sullivan sung about Busting Windows all I could do was laugh, sing along and shake my head. Some things just touch me for reasons I care not to document on this blog….. but Ms. Sullivan is one artist who has managed to capture her heartache in her music.
And now there’s “10 Seconds” – reminiscent of old school Rose Royce’s “I’m going down”, the Salaam Remi produced track speaks to the end of a relationship where Sullivan is giving her lover 10 seconds to get the hell on.
Often compared to the iconic Mary J. Blige, Sullivan is the new millennium MJB. Once Mary lost the drama the edge went with it and although Mary’s still a force, Jazzy picks up where she left off… speaking to the broken hearts of millions.
Whoever hurt her has made her a star. It’s obvious that pain is one ingredient to her soulful songs but whatever the concoction, let’s hope she keeps bringing it!

Beyonce aka Mrs. Carter was spotted dancing in the streets of Jersey while visiting the inlaws. The bootylicious singer took a chance to rub elbows with the regular folk as she joined in on the neighborhood electric slide… cupid shuffle… wobble… ?? hell… one of those group dances.
According to a neighbor:
I went to a Big block party in West Orange… the same block where Jay Z mom lives. Jay Z and Beyonce went to visit his mom. When the DJ start playing music, Beyonce came out to dance with the neighbors. (you will see my daughter too nervous to get next to her. (Sept 18,2010)

Tyler Perry is something like a superman these days.? Just last year the Atlanta-based movie mogul pledged a million dollars to the NAACP and now he’s coming to the rescue of a few local Atlanta cub scouts.
Thieves recently hauled away trailers belonging to a DeKalb County Cub Scout troop. Someone took two trailers loaded with scout camping equipment from the parking lot of Clairmont Hills Church. Cub Master Derek Bell says he believed someone hooked up their truck to the trailers and just drove off. “Tents, sleeping bags, cooking gear, stoves, tarps, everything you would need to take 30 to 40 people camping,” was stolen and several disappointed Cub Scouts were left with nothing.
Perry saw the story and called Channel 2 Action News on Tuesday morning asking to help and quickly brought back their dreams of a wilderness adventure.
Hours later a representative from Tyler Perry studios presented the scouts with check for $10,000. Studio President Ozzie Areu said the check came from Perry?s personal account.
“Man, I can’t believe Tyler Perry cares for us so much that he would give us that much money,” exclaimed one of the excited cubs. (source)

Jamal Parris, the 3rd accuser in the Bishop Eddie Long Sex Scandal, breaks his silence and speaks out publicly about Bishop Eddie Long…. and he has plenty to say!
“You look at our eyes,” Parris said. “You hear the pain in our voice. We have no reason to lie to this man.”
Jamal Parris is one of four young men who have filed sexual misconduct lawsuits against Bishop Eddie Long, accusing him of using scripture and church money to sexually seduce them.
On Sunday, Bishop Eddie Long spoke for the first time, never flatly denying the claims, but vowing to fight. “I am not the man being portrayed on the television,” Bishop long told the congregation at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday. “That’s not me.”

Since last week, none of the four young men have talked publicly about the lawsuit– until now.? Jamal Parris was found shopping at a 24-hour store in Colorado and he didn’t hold back on the pain he felt towards a man he considered to be his “spiritual father”.
