That’s just one of the many knowledgeable facts that Lil Wayne dishes in his recent 30 minute public service announcement.

Weezy says it angers him how people are doing things like drinking syrup (promethazine mixed with codine) just to be cool.? He also notes that he stopped drinking it but started again recently because of his problems sleeping in the midst of producing so much work.

He also acknowledges the death death of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, and states that the creative visionary was taken from the world much too soon.

“I don’t know a person who hasn’t been influenced in some way by this man.”

There are so many key moments in the video, and one that struck me in particular was Wayne’s frustration in young people today who mimic his style by covering themselves in tattoos.? Wayne asks the youth of today to consider WHY they do the things they do?

There’s a reason David “Punk” Otunga has been M.I.A. by Jennifer Hudson’s side and it has absolutely nothing to do with his wrestling career.

J-Hud and David have been perpetually engaged since 2008 and even have a 2 year old son, David, Jr. but it’s a rare occurrence these days to see them photographed together.

Jennifer recently revealed in an interview that she has a wedding date in mind and has even chosen a dress, but according to several online sources she may not have a groom anymore!

Word on the curb is that Jennifer wants Punk to sign a pre-nup and he has flat out refused.

[David] didn?t want to sign a pre-nup, and so they put the wedding on hold.

Honestly, I don’t blame her. I’ve been known to say the same thing a time or two (or three). Shoot! I’ll be dayum if I go through another divorce arguing over whose cd’s are whose!

Next time umma just list ’em all in the pre-nup! 😆

Facebook Fail… Are These Your Daughters? [FOR DISCUSSION]

This ain’t cute at all! ?This photo was posted on Facebook and Tumblr recently of two pregnant teen girls. The caption read, “Two pregnant BFF’s 15 and 14 years old…”

I instantly thought of the story I wrote last year about 90 girls in one school’s student population who were all pregnant at the same time.

October ?has been designated as “Let’s Talk” month so that we can at least get the conversation started with our teens.? This discussion needs to be had with BOTH boys and girls because… DUH! it takes both to make a baby.

Bringing a new life into the world is a beautiful thing that should not be taken lightly. Many teen moms and dads are ill equipped to care for that new life and are forced into poverty stricken conditions.? Is that what we want for our next generation?

Georgia has the 13th highest teen pregnancy rate in the country. Preventing teen pregnancy often starts by changing circumstances and inspiring young people.? Being that teens are posting photos like this online, pregnancy at such a young age is clearly becoming more acceptable in their culture and we need to do something quick, fast and in a hurry!

Melanie Fiona has released the video for “4 AM,” the second single from her upcoming sophomore album, The MF Life, which is slated to drop on December 6.

In the video, directed by Colin Tilley, the Canadian songstress is shown in her home chillin while she waits for her boo to return from a night out clubbing.

The video was shot in part at the Voyeur nightclub in West Hollywood and at a private Beverly Hills home, with Fiona and her crew reportedly staying up all night to complete the shoot.

So lemme get this straight… Mel’s trippin’ & going crazy while he’s out with his boys…? the same boys that she watched him get in the car with?

Ummkay. 😕

I personally would be more concerned about his safety than his sleeping around… but perhaps they already had trust issues?!? (cue Drizzy Drake)

Should There Be A “RuleBook” on Facebook Relationships?

I’m starting think there may need to be some written guidelines on social networking dating & relationships. Seriously.? Think about it.? Things are so much different online and off and people approach

Personally, I’ve always had a rule about NEVER dating anyone I met online.? First of all, umma need for someone, anyone, around him that knows me to at least warn him about me first.

In my logic, if I meet you online, most times there’s not that instant buffer of a common personal “connection,” no person to tell you (or I) the “real deal” about you and your shitty personality, so we each have to go off of what we read (or see) and is that really a fair assessment of who anyone really is? Hmmmmm?

If you DO choose to meet someone online, are there any online rules? What are the dos and don’ts when it comes to Facebook relationship status etiquette?

There’s been discussion groups for high school students, where they were guided in understanding the proper ways to handle Facebook relationships but what about all you GROWN folks?
