Episode one, is entitled “No Justice, No Peace” and the synopsis is as follows:
Porsha’s involvement in the Black Lives Matter movement leads her to Louisville, Kentucky, where she risks everything to demand justice for Breonna Taylor. Also, in the wake of the pandemic, Cynthia and Mike are on different pages when it comes to planning their dream wedding; Kandi prepares to send Riley off to college; and, after almost a year apart, Kenya comes to a crossroads about whether her marriage is worth saving.
Many are boycotting Bravo due to what has been perceived as unfair treatment of their star “housewife” Nene Leakes, and it appears that her absence is clearly noted in the first episode, which has been uploaded online.
Recap + watch full episode below…
Quarantine weight gain is real…
All of the ladies have gained upwards of 20lbs since quarantining during the pandemic…. (well, except Kandi Burruss cause WE ALL know she didn’t sequester herself AT ALL)… but I digress.
Cynthia claims that she weighs 180lbs and her boobs are carrying all the weight. During an outdoor lunch on her front porch alongside, Kandi and Marlo, Cynthia flashes us all several times. Seems a bit obviously that she was taking a cue from her former friend Nene Leakes, who was accused of during drugs and flashing her breasts while in Toronto last season. I wonder why no one accused Bailey of being under the influence… hmmmm??
Kenya is still pretending to divorce a man she fake married…
On a related note, Kenya Moore is headed to a divorce attorney and can barely zip up her dress. She heads out anyway with her mock neck dress looking like a cowl neck since it’s open in the back.
It’s also hard to ignore the fact that Kenya gained most of her weight in her face. She looks like an adorable chip monk with swollen cheeks.
[Sidebar: I know the feeling Kenya…. get you some water pills and one of those face trainers thingys.]
Meanwhile, Kenya’s lawyer offers her some words of advice…i.e. ‘Don’t let that man stress you out.’ However, I feel that Kenya is more stressed about how she looks like a fool on the show than her actual “relationship”… but what do I know.
Kandi wants money from her baby daddy…
Another day, another baby daddy storyline for Kandi Burruss. This season, Kandi’s daughter Riley and her new nose is headed off to college in New York and Kandi feels that it’s time for Riley’s dad to step up and pay all the back child support she’s owed.
Riley doesn’t seem to care one way or the other, but it seems that Kandi wants to press the issue.
Apparently we can spend money on nose jobs but Block (Riley’s dad) needs to pay for college expenses. Whatever the case, that’s what Kandi is fighting for this season.
Cynthia values having a wedding over her relationship…
Cynthia is still a thirsty bride and she can’t wait to walk down the aisle with her new man. Oddly enough, she says she had such a bad experience during her first wedding that she wants to re-do it all a 2nd time bigger and better.
Mike Hill reminds Bailey that it’s a pandemic, but she doesn’t seem to care. It’s all or nothing for Cynthia and even her groom to be gives her the side eye when it’s apparent that she cares more about having a wedding that building a marriage.
Seems like a recipe for disaster. But I guess that’s why we watch.
Bravo is using police brutality for entertainment purposes…
Porsha Williams has been protesting all summer for justice for Breonna Taylor and it seems that Bravo is down with exploiting the situation for ratings. While I feel that Porsha is sincere in her actions, I question producers who utilized triggering clips of George Floyd’s murder during last night’s show.
It was definitely not entertaining and use of the sound bite of George Floyd calling out for his mother has he died slowly on the pavement should not have been used at all in my opinion.
