That being said… a recent ad placed in the Atlanta section of Craigslist caught the eye of the GBI as it appears that a pregnant woman was seeking to sell her unborn child for money and/or drugs.
Details below…
In the shocking ad pictured above, an unidentified woman claims to be pregnant and requests compensation in exchange for her unborn child.
She states in the ad:
?6 months pregnant, don?t want it. Willing to trade it for $ or drugs. Guaranteed white, so don?t come at me cheap, serious offers only.?
The post immediately caught the attention of various agencies and spurred a full-blown investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
“We have gotten a lot of tips, we’ve gotten tips from various sources and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children,? said GBI spokeswoman Sherry Lang.
Authorities are also looking into whether the ad is a prank.
“That would be something we would take to the district attorney’s office and let the DA make a determination on that,” Lang said. ?We are not sure whether or not it’s a hoax, but it’s a definite possibility.”
The GBI says if the ad is indeed a hoax, it’s still unclear what, if anything the person could be charged with.
