Cougar Swag! Vivica A. Fox & Bern Nadette Stanis Honored in Detroit… [PHOTOS + VIDEO]
Actress Bern Nadette Stanis and Vivica A. Fox were recently honored by the City of Detroit as their new play, ‘Danger at My Door’ opened at the Detroit Opera House earlier this week.
The play is a story of love, friendship and lies, centered on the story of two women who have been friends since High School.
Vivica recently celebrated her 50th birthday this year while Stanis (best known for her role as ‘Thelma’ from Good Times) turns 60 in December.

Facebook Fail: Drag Queens Targeted For Deletion Receive Apology…

Facebook caught heat recently when it deleted several hundred accounts belonging to self-described drag queens, other performers and members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
The world’s biggest online social network has issued an apology to drag queens and the transgender community for deleting accounts that used drag names like Lil Miss Hot Mess rather than legal names such as Bob Smith.

Facebook has long required its users to go by their “real names” on the site for security purposes, to stand out from other social networks and so it can better target advertising to people. Now, the company says the spirit of its policy doesn’t mean a person’s legal name but “the authentic name they use in real life.”
Though Facebook’s real names policy isn’t changing, the way the social media giant enforces it might.

Porsha Williams: ‘I Was Blindsided’ By My #RHOA Demotion… [OFFICIAL STATEMENT]
After hearing news of her ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta‘ demotion yesterday, Porsha Williams called in sick to her Dish Nation radio gig (October 1, 2014).

Williams had previously shared a photo of herself in an oxygen mask, but it wasn’t because of a ?mystery illness? or ?health scare? as some media outlets were reporting. It seems Williams merely wasn’t feeling too well after hearing that her RHOA peach had been snatched right from under her nose!
The ex-‘housewife’ is apparently feeling better and is back to work, and she shared her disappointment about her demotion with her radio employer, stating:
After a long season of filming, and giving my all, I was blindsided by the announcement from the network that I was demoted from ?Housewife Status,? but would remain on the show in a ?Friend? capacity.
?Unfortunately, I can only be PORSHA, and portraying anything else, would not be genuine nor honest. This moment is bittersweet, but God has been so amazing to me, and I think this is a perfect time for me to spread my wings, and finally focus on all of my upcoming projects.
As you know, Williams joined Dish Nation in June, teaming up with The Rickey Smiley Morning Show out of Atlanta and she looks forward to focusing more of her energy on the radio program.

Entertainment veteran Shanti Das and Marlon Nichols presented yet another incredible R&B talent showcase at Park Tavern in Piedmont Park last week (September 24, 2014).
The September edition of ‘ATL Live on the Park’ celebrated their 2nd Annual Hip-Hop Unplugged? honoring pioneers from the Atlanta Hip-Hop music scene.[FLASHBACK: DaBrat, KeKe Wayett, Joe & More Perform at ATL Live On The Park (PHOTOS)]
The crowd was treated to performances by K.P. and Envyi, DJ Jelly and DJ Nabs, Backbone, Organized Noize, and Goodie Mob’s Big Gipp.

There’s been a huge shake up over the season 7 cast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta!
Remember my tea about the season 7 cast??

Apparently all of the ladies previously mentioned will be appearing on the show (Kandi Burruss, Phaedra Parks, Nene Leakes, Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore, Porsha Williams, Claudia Jordan, and Demetria McKinney), but only a selected few actually get to hold a peach!
The ‘peaches’ have all been distributed for season 7 and according to the new cast photo, someone got a peach that was originally supposed to be a ‘background’ character!!!? And in addition to that… a former ‘certified’ peach got booted from the cast photo.
