We all laughed at former “American Idol” champ Ruben Studdard for marrying Surata Zuri McCants back in 2008, and I don’t think any one was really surprised last November when Studdard announced he and his booty shakin’ boo were over.

Well the divorce is now final and surprisingly Ruben has walked away from a marriage we all gave the side-eye SCOTT FREE.
The judge even ruled Studdard can take the engagement ring with him!

Thanks to an ironclad prenup, Ruben just went through the cleanest divorce ever.
Ruben filed for divorce in November from his wife Surata Zuri McCants, citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was recently finalized in January.
According to TMZ,
It got hairy at first — Zuri tried to get the judge in their divorce case to nullify the prenup, claiming Ruben blindsided her with the documents just days before the wedding, unfairly pressuring her into signing them.
But the judge wasn’t buying it — upholding the prenup, and awarding Zuri close to ZILCH in the divorce.
According to the final judgment, Ruben was not ordered to pay ANY spousal support or alimony … and he gets to keep their home plus all his belongings — jewelry, pensions, royalties, clothing, and all his cash. It was even ordered Zuri return the engagement ring.
So what did Zuri get out of the deal? Her wedding dress, her photo albums, a 2006 BMW (which Ruben will pay off), a $10,ooo property settlement, $2,000 for attorneys fees, and her maiden name.
Ummmm…. somebody must have only got through the first few chapters of Tariq Nasheed’s The Art Of Gold Digging. Clearly she didn’t finish the book!
Welp… I guess congratulations are in order for Mr. Studdard. You DID that boo!
But that ring shoulda been off limits, in my opion. I could see if you two were merely engaged but you were MARRIED. She at least earned the dayum ring! *sigh*

I know Zuri personally and I have since we were 12 years old. She is not the chick that was in the tip drill video. That’s Monique. Get your facts straight. I knew that this marraige would not last long. They met at a book signing and they simply asked each other like a pair of 5 year olds "do you like me?" Shortly after that they were married. Even if she did not sign a pre-nup she would have got nothing. Reuben is flat broke and being sued by some company for almost all of his money. Ordering him to pay off a baby 2006 BMW should let you know something right there. They didn’t have it and don’t have it. She worked throughout the entire marriage so she didn’t strike gold at all. Zuri has always been lame. A true gold digger would have never married Rueben Studdard. LOL. The joke is on her. She has been on the social scene real hard lately looking for another fool but I doubt if she will ever find another sucker like Reuben.

She got just what she deserved: NOTHING! You can’t sign a prenup’, stay married for three years w/o complaining, and then complain that the prenup’ was unfair when the man files for a divorce. The prenup’ should always stand, if you sign your name on the dotted line.
