As of this morning, Warrick Dunn is no longer an Atlanta Falcon.??He could possibly end?up in?either Houston, Dallas, Tampa Bay or Denver.??
Dunn was one of Atlanta’s most productive and popular players over the past six seasons and was widely known and recognized for his community service work. He lead the team in rushing the last four seasons.
“Warrick Dunn holds himself to the highest standards of the National Football League,” Falcons owner Arthur Blank said in a statement released by the team. “His contributions, not only to the Falcons but to the entire NFL both on and off the field, have been well documented. The legacy he leaves in Atlanta will be long-remembered and appreciated by his fellow players, fans and the community. In my mind, Warrick will always be part of the Falcons family. At times like this our hearts are heavy, but the nature of the game sometimes requires making these kinds of decisions, however difficult they are for all of us. I wish Warrick continued great success in his future endeavors.” ?(Source)
Michael Vick has applied to an early release drug program.? If you recall, he tested positive for marijuana while under house arrest prior to his sentencing.? If accepted into the program, it is possible that Vick could be released at least 12 months early.?
Vick tested positive for marijuana in September while he was on supervised release following his guilty plea. The residential drug treatment programs at Bureau of Prisons institutions take place in units set apart from the general prison population, lasting at least 500 hours over a six to 12 months, according to Bureau of Prisons policy.
Upon successful completion of the program, non-violent offenders may be granted up to one year of early release. Staff members review the inmates’ records and behavior to determine if they are eligible for early release. (Source)
Let’s see…thats 23 months minus 12 months?minus 3 months?served would?equal about 9 months to go!??? My guess is that he could be out by Thanksgiving of 2008, which would give him plenty of time to prepare for the 2009 season!? Wishful Thinking!?
“Atlanta Falcons players;
Out of my respect for you, I am letting you know, with a heavy heart, I resigned today as the Head Coach of the Atlanta Falcons. This decision was not easy but was made in the best interest of me and my family. While my desire would have been to finish out what has been a difficult season for us all, circumstances did not allow me to do so. I appreciate your hard work and wish the best.
Sincerely,
Bobby Petrino”
Atlanta Falcon’s coach Bobby Petrino abruptly quit yesterday after Monday night’s loss to the Saints.? Most people say “Good Riddance!”? but are we really suprised?? Petrino during his first year as head coach of an NFL organization has 10 losses!? Not impressive at all…and his history suggests that he has done this over and over again.? All I have to say is….return to college Petrino…I’m sure we can do better without you.? Hell…we can’t do any WORSE!!!
The Feds are attempting to freeze Michael Vick’s assets?in order to ensure they receive $1 Million dollars for the costs to care for the 48 dogs that were originally in Vick’s care.??WTF???
Vick’s “deteriorating financial condition,” his recent push to sell off property, and several lawsuits against him prompted the motion, according to court papers and federal authorities.
The tab for the 48 pit bulls staying at unidentified animal shelters in Virginia is estimated at $928,000, according to the motion. (Source)
I feel like sitting under a white sheet with my M.A.C. smokey grey eyeliner and yelling (in my best Chris Crocker impression)
“LEAVE MICHAEL ALONE…..LEAVE ‘EM A-LONE!!!“
Everyday it’s something….haven’t they done enough to that man….dayum!? I know that we all have differences in opinion about this case and I have read (and experienced) that the divide is greatest amongst Blacks and Whites.?? It’s so sad that this has turned into a racial matter and I know that there will never be a consensus on what’s right or wrong but Mike has my support and always will.
Click here to find out how to write Michael Vick in jail and show him your support!? He’s gonna need it and I’m sure the folks over at?the Red Neck…..Northern Neck Regional Jail will appreciate the extra paperwork.
Vick Fires Atlanta Attorney!
Michael Vick has decided to fire one of the attorneys representing him in the dogfighting case.?
Daniel R. Meachum, an attorney from Atlanta, will no longer represent the Newport News native who pleaded guilty to a federal dogfighting conspiracy charge.
Vick sent a letter October 26th cutting ties with Meachum.
His defense team includes Virginia Beach lawyers Larry Woodward and Thomas Shuttleworth and Washington, D.C., attorney Billy Martin. (Source – Fox 5 Atlanta)
Hmmmm…..could this possibly be the attorney who convinced advised him the plead guilty?? Maybe Mike is finally coming to his senses.
