Super producer Dallas Austin held a launch event for his “Beat Thang” sampler/beat machine at his private residence last weekend? in Atlanta, Georgia. (May 27, 2011).
In addition to his son Tron and baby mama Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, several popular area beat makers joined Austin to sample his sampler, including Jazze Pha, Drummaboy, DJ Toomp, JLac (Usher’s lil brother) and more.

Another day, another Christmas Party! BMI’s Atlanta offices celebrated the holidays with a party hosted by Dallas Austin, Devyne Stephens and Sean Garrett (December 9) at Atlanta?s Halo Lounge.
Several A-town homies were spotted at the festive event, including DJ Toomp, Derek J, Jazze Pha, Roger Bob (Tyler Perry Studios) and more.

Fellow ATLien DJ Toomp, who just released two singles with T.I. (“Yeah Ya Know” and “Got Your Back”) took a brief studio break recently to chat about Kanye West’s new album.
It’s incredible. It’s a powerful album. He’s [Kanye] speaking his mind as he always do. Keeping it hip-hop. Keeping it gutter. From Kanye being an artist/ producer/ visionairy… dude knows exactly where he wants to take a song.? Where he wants to take his video. The project. The whole thing!
He’s a guy who understands what it really takes to put it together.

Of course all of your a-town favs were in the house, including Killer Mike, Big Kountry King, Lil Duval and more. One highlight of my evening was meeting Kevin Hart, who lit up the room with his lil chocolate presence. Kevin and I chatted for a bit and he enlightened me about life and purpose when he explained to he how he never imagined being paid so well to do what he loves. He also stole a lil piece of my heart when he threw the “A” just for me:
