Celebrity hairstylist Derek J rocked his favorite sorority’s colors (skeee-weee!) as he played host to one of the many beauty suites held during Essence Music Festival weekend in New Orleans, LA.

On July 5th and 6th, the flamboyant star of Bravo’s “Fashion Queens” drew out a slew of fans for Dr. Miracle?s Hair Care signature consumer event, ‘The Prescription for Style (#RX4Style) Lounge’ at the Belloq Lounge in the Hotel Modern.

Nearly 200 attendees participated throughout the two day event, women smoothed out humidity riddled hair and learned to embrace their natural curls like never before.

Soul singer Honey LaRochelle graced the audience with one of a kind performances throughout the event and several other reality “stars” came out to support BRAVOlebrity Derek J.

Momma Dee of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta showed up and showed out (as usual) and her LHHATL co-star Karlie Redd also stopped in to get her weave together for the weekend festivites.

Other attendees included: Sharlinda Parker, Sabrina Rowe, Khadijah Rowe?and Lil? Q Parker?of Big Rich Atlanta, reality show newcomer, celebrity barbers Sam Sneed and Z The Great of Strictly Skillz, best selling authors Caroline Jhingory (Half My Size) and Bella Jones (Memoirs of a Trapstar?s Wife).
