Jermaine Dupri is clearing the air about recent reports that Jay-Z discouraged him from signing a similar deal with the NFL.

Just few days ago, commentary from Bryan Michael-Cox went viral after he stated during his podcast that his good friend, Jermaine Dupri had received a phone call from Jay-Z advising him not to go into business with the NFL (click HERE if you missed that).

Well, JD is breaking his silence and speaking out about the controversy. The mega producer hit up Big Tigger on Atlanta’s V-103, to refute the story with Bryan-Michael Cox sitting right beside him.

Word on the curb is that Jay-Z discouraged one of his musical peers from a lucrative NFL deal prior to making the move himself.

Jay has been all over the news recently after holding a press conference with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announcing a multi-year partnership with the professional sports league, in which the 49-year-old rapper will consult on the halftime show and work with the league’s activism campaign, Inspire Change.

Well apparently Jermaine Dupri was discussing a similar deal and Mr. Shawn Carter told him it wasn’t a good idea.

Dupri was officially inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame yesterday (June 14), and he celebrated the huge accomplishment alongside his family and friends including, Usher, Mariah Carey, Johnta Austin, Bryan-Michael Cox and more at the Marquis Hotel in NYC.

Atlanta Celebs Attend FOX Screening for Lee Daniels’ “STAR”… (PHOTOS)

Cast members ?of the new FOX series ‘STAR’?were on hand as the network hosted an exclusive preview screening for the new series during the popular ATL Live on the Park showcase from industry vets Shanti Das and Marlon Nichols last night (November 7, 2016).

Over 300 VIP guests gathered at Park Tavern for a sneak peek of the new show created by Lee Daniels and Queen Latifah.

Attendees watched the premiere episode and then proceeded downstairs to enjoy live performances by Julie Dexter, Dondria, Rayven Justice and Sandy Redd with host Ed Lover.
