You may have heard by now that Lifetime plans to produce a biopic of the legendary singer and actress Aaliyah, starring Disney’s Zendaya Coleman as the posthumous star.
The film, tentatively entitled “Aaliyah: Princess of R&B”, is based on the bestseller “Aaliyah: More Than a Woman” by former Time magazine music editor Christopher Farley.
As reported earlier this week, Aaliyah‘s family is not seeing it for Lifetime Network’s unauthorized biopic of the fallen superstar.

Aaliyah’s family has now released an official statement about their stance in stopping the network from profiting from the singer’s death.
