Kenneth ?Babyface? Edmonds was surrounded by a slew of stars he helped make famous as he was awarded the 2,508th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday (October 10, 2013).
Edmonds, who was once called ‘the Quincy Jones of the 90’s’ has crafted over 100 top 10 R&B and pop singles throughout his lengthy career.
“It was surreal,” said the 10-time Grammy winner, admitting that he never dreamed he’d see his name cemented on the famous sidewalk.
“That was not part of the plan. That’s what makes it an amazing thing.”
With 10 Grammy Awards under his belt, the singer/songwriter/producer is long over due for the honor.? Edmonds, who is responsible for many of your favorite 90s’ R&B hits, even found his own successful career as a solo artist thanks to his smooth, seductive brand of R&B.
Babyface and L.A. Reid founded LaFace Records, sparking the careers of Atlanta based artists like TLC, Outkast, Usher and Toni Braxton, but superstars like Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Beyonc?, Boyz II Men, Pink, Madonna, Aretha Franklin, Celine Dion are just a few of the stars whose music has been blessed by his musical talents.
Usher Raymond, Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs, L.A. Reid, Stevie Wonder and Toni Braxton were all on hand to celebrate with the famous R&B singer and producer.
