Oprah Only Got Vick Interview Because She Dropped the Bet…

Sad news today for Oprah Winfrey’s bank account [insert side-eye here]. She had to turn down all that loot she won in that bet against CNN host Piers Morgan.

Word on the street is that Lady “O” was actually only able to land that exclusive interview with Michael Vick after she publicly agreed to drop the bet.

The two television personalities had placed a small wager on who would be the first to sit down with the reformed football star since his return to the field, but Morgan says Vick’s people demanded the bet be canceled because they didn’t want the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback associated with gambling.

Oprah Winfrey Wins Bet That She Could Land Mike Vick Interview First…

Michael Vick may have ended the NFL season on a losing note in the playoffs, but he just made a winner out of Oprah Winfrey… at least he will next week.

Winfrey made a lil wager with with Piers Morgan that she’d beat Larry King’s CNN replacement in landing the Vick interview. She bet him “200-pounds” during Morgan’s first show (“200 pounds” stems from Morgan being a Brit) and Vick’s appearance next week makes Miss O the winner of the bet. [Sidebar: As if Oprah EVER loses… ]

Vick , who served 18 months in prison over a dogfighting operation, is scheduled to sit down for a one-on-one interview with Oprah on Feb. 24th to discuss, amongst other things, his prison time for dog-fighting crimes, and how he’s turned his life around.

Vick was reinstated to the NFL for the 2009 season and has been doing public-service work with organizations like PETA and the Humane Society, every since his release.

Mike’s story is a classic tale of redemption and I, for one, will be sitting front and center watching him on Oprah. I hope he doesn’t shed any tears…

Jennifer Hudson Talks Weight Loss & Family Tragedy on Oprah [VIDEO]

Jennifer Hudson appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show yesterday where she spoke about her weight loss success and how she’d gotten her entire family involved and in shape.

The slender singer, who has previously refused to confirm exactly how many pounds she’s lost, admitted to losing at least 80lbs! She even revealed one of her work-out secrets… basketball!

J-Hud also broke her silence regarding the 2008 murders of her mother, brother, and nephew. In the emotional segment, Jennifer touched on how she got back on her feet in the wake of her family tragedy.

?I try to do everything to say, ?OK, will my mother like this? Will she be pleased? Will she be proud of that? How do I know she?s happy and she?s smiling down at me from heaven??? said the tearful songstress. ?And that?s what I try to go by and walk by.?

The 29-year-old Grammy winner detailed how she could hear the voice of her mother and brother telling her to ?knock it off? and snap out of her funk. Jennifer managed to get through the interview, although she did shed a few tears and admits it’s still a difficult time for her.

?It?s such a shocking thing,? she said. ?It?s a lot to take in. It?s like, ?OK, is this real? Did this really happen?? It?s hard to put it in sync with reality.?

WTF?!? Atlanta Woman Grows 24 Inch Fingernails In Quest To Appear On Oprah… [VIDEO]

A southwest Atlanta mother and grandmother has decided to take extreme measures to meet her idol Oprah Winfrey, she’s growing her fingernails as long as she can!

Jazz Ison Sinkfield wants to meet Oprah Winfrey “and a lot of more celebrities” so they can bask in the glory of her extended fingernails, the longest of which reaches 24 inches.

Sinkfield says growing her nails is “a gift and…a talent too, because it’s something that everyone cannot do.”

Maintaining them requires five hours at the salon each month, and Sinkfield pays a whopping $250 to her manicurist each visit.

Of course there are several things she can’t do with her hands, like tie her shoes, type or bowl, and while Sinkfield admits other women “toot their noses up” at her, she says her long nails are a beautiful fashion statement.

Oprah Blames Film Flop for Mac & Cheese Binge….

Media mogul Oprah Winfrey posed with her hands in her deep pockets last week (January 6, 2011) as she arrived for OWN – The Oprah Winfrey Network’s 2011 TCA Winter Press Tour Cocktail Party at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, California.

America’s most beloved talk show host revealed recently that disappointment and failure once sent her into a eating binge that made her pack on the pounds…. at least 30 of em!

Oprah says her worst career moment was the box-office failure of her movie “Beloved.” It sent her into what she calls a “macaroni-and-cheese-eating tailspin.”

Winfrey starred as a former slave in the 1998 film based on a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. The movie had the misfortune to open the same weekend as the slasher film, “Bride of Chucky.”

“Beloved” was a flop.

Winfrey tells Piers Morgan in an interview for his new CNN talk show that it was the only time she was ever depressed.? She says she told her chef to make some mac-and-cheese to help her cope.

Asked how much, Winfrey says with a laugh, “About 30 pounds’ worth.” (source)

We all face disappointments at times. At least O can admit she’s still human even though she OWN’s just about everyting…
