Well… sort of! Singer Fantasia Barrino appeared on stage in Greensboro, NC over the weekend in her cap and gown as she took her place amongst the 2010 graduating class of Andrews High School.
The singer earned an honorary degree from the school after struggling for years with her ability to read and write.
Barrino walked with the other graduates in a cap and gown during the ceremony, which was held at the Greensboro Coliseum. In the past, Fantasia has been surprisingly honest about dropping out of high school as a teen and revealed during the last few shows of her reality show, Fantasia For Real, that she was seeking her GED .
I?ve been talking about it for so long. I have a lot of young people who look up to me, like my 15-year-old brother and 7-year-old daughter. It?s something that I really need to do and that I want to do.
