Comedian/Syndicated talk show host Rickey Smiley showed his true colors this morning on the social networking site Twitter. I had no idea what was going on til loyal reader Gwendella hit me up on email:

Chris Brown Wants Rihanna Restraining Order Lifted…

Chris Brown’s attorneys were in court recently asking a judge to reduce Chris’ mandatory “stay away” order from Rihianna… and according to TMZ, at has absolutely nothing to do with the Grammy Awards.

As part of the Rihanna assault case, Brown’s attorney asked the judge yesterday to reduce the “stay away” order against him to a “do not annoy” order. Doing so would have removed the part about Brown having to stay 50 yards away from RiRi.

Ultimately, while the judge again praised Brown for his progress, the ruling was put off until a later date because an attorney for Rihanna could not be reached.

As for the idea that this hearing has anything to do with Brown going to the Grammys … Tammy Brook, a rep for Brown, tells TMZ, “This court date and the lifting of the restraining order is part of the planned ongoing legal proceedings. The date was scheduled months ago. Chris Brown is very thankful for his Grammy nominations, but due to scheduling conflicts, he will not be attending the Grammys.”

I guess sicne Rih Rih is single, Chris just want so to be close to her… again.

RHOA’s Attorney Phaedra Parks Blogs About Kim, NeNe & Race Relations…

Season 3 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is winding down to a close, but that infamous “bus fight” between NeNe Leakes and Kim Zolciak is still being discussed amongst the masses.

During the fight, NeNe called Kim’s assistant Sweetie a “slave,” and although NeNe admits that she felt bad about the fight, her harsh words have prompted participants and viewers alike to take a deep look at race relations on the show.

In the words of Pierre Berton, “Racism is a refuge for the ignorant. It seeks to divide and to destroy. It is the enemy of freedom, and deserves to be met head-on and stamped out.”

Kim has commonly been referred to as the “token white chick” of Atlanta, but does that give NeNe, a known bully to select Kim as the target of whatever deep seated issues she has?

Attorney Phaedra Parks, who has also been the target of a few racially based insults (*cough* Chelsea Lately Show) addressed these deep issues in a recent blog and she brought out some really interesting points.

Atlanta, Georgia area megachurch pastor Bishop Eddie Long was spotted at the Trumpet Awards prayer breakfast yesterday.

As you know, the Bishop stopped talking to the media after his sex scandal broke, opting only to speak directly to the congregation of his New Birth Missionary Baptist Church…

Long broke his media silence at yesterday’s luncheon by speaking on air to CNN affiliate WSB.

It’s just a wonderful celebration of greatness. It’s a wonderful celebration of a time when our nation needs hope. When people need to see people who rise up and are doing great things and are actually making a difference in someone’s life.

Although he didn’t address his legal issues, it seems Bishop Long is a bit confident since entering into closed door mediation with the four young men who accused him of sexual coercion. Perhaps he’s already cut the check…

Actress Vivica Fox was the featured keynote speaker at the 2011 Freshman Convocation at Fort Valley State University Wednesday, January 26, 2011.

As the 1st year college students move on to the next level, Vivica shared her secrets to success and provided a bit of inspiration to the group.

I have absolutely no idea what Vivica said in her speech (and no one got video), but I’m sure the self-professed “cougar” managed to inspire all those talented young men…

Do-Over! Brandy Gets Her Elephant Tattoo Fixed…
