My girl Monica and Mario were spotted at the Baby Phat & KLS Collection show last night during Mercedes-Benz fashion week 2009 in New York. The event was hosted by a very pregnant Kimora Lee and Monica was looking HAWT as usual! Peep flix:

Monica did a tribute to Mary J. Blige during the 2009 BET Honors and completely ripped Mary’s ‘Not Gone Cry’! She had the entire audience in tears as she thanked Mary for being her inspiration.? In case you missed it, check out the performance below:
“Thank you for giving me the motiviation to love ME first and to let him learn to catch up with the woman I had become. I thank you and I love you. Every lecture and every prayer I heard you.”
When she got down and thanked Mary at the end of her performance, that was it for me. Mo had officially stole the show!

Monica’s still working on her comeback album and taped a message for all of her fans while working in the studio with Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox.? They’re working on a new song called “Never Give Up” and Mo wants everyone to know that she’s not dropping any fly by night hits. This is REAL MUSIC she’s working on and they’re making sure it’s right.? So be patient dammit!!!? BTW…I see you Mo shouting out the “A”…Love you boo! 🙂
I had to disappear for a minute yesterday and caught a ton of flack from a few folks but it’s OK. My girl Monica’s song “Don’t Take It Personal” made me put everything in perspective. This old school joint came on the A-pod while I was on my mini road trip and I promise you…I had to hit repeat about 3 times! Like for real…sometimes a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do…Don’t take that sh*t so personal! and speaking of personal. Some larger than life bloggers are really *cough*? feeling themselves these days! They take and take without giving credit, then whine about not being acknowledged as a source. I just want to put it out there that there are several blogs that I personally read on a regular basis….and yours is NOT one of em. It ain’t that serious. Get over yourself…

Monica is just one of several other R&B singers and celebs slated to join a new BET reality series entitled, “Played by Fame.” The show is scheduled to premiere Fri, Jan. 30th and will reportedly pair celebrities with unsuspecting fans.
In vein of recent BET series like ‘Hell Date’, patience is tested and boundaries are broken as celeb-fanatics partake in what appears to be the best opportunity of their lives — spending the day with their favorite celebrity. But reality quickly sets in as a series of pranks turns what started off as a dream day into the worst time of their lives!
Former BET ‘Hits’ and MTV Punk’d host Al Shearer will host the new series that will also feature Lamman Rucker (‘Why Did I Get Married’), Wendy Raquel Robinson (‘The Game’), Bobby Brown, E-40, Keshia Knight-Pulliam, Kel Mitchell, Bobby Valentino, Tichina Arnold (‘Everybody Hates Chris’), Eva Marcille, and Melyssa Ford.
