Clifford “T.I.” Harris was all smiles as he posed for the mugshot above after being busted in his own gated community!
The superstar entertainer apparently felt ‘somekindaway’ about being denied entry to his own neighborhood and got into an altercation with the security guard on duty.
Details below…
Tip arrived home to his gated community in Jonesboro around 4am this morning and became understandably upset after the guard at the gate wouldn’t let him it.
According to several local reports, Harris didn’t have his access key, and the guard denied access.
T.I. and a friend reportedly argued with the guard at the security shack and was subsequently allowed into his gated community after, but he was so pissed off that he returned on foot to confront the guy at the booth again.
Henry County police were called to the scene, and ended up arresting the entertainer for simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
TMZ reports that the rapper did NOT make physical contact with the security guard, but the guard claims he feared he would be hit during the dispute.
[Sidebar: Under GA law, that constitutes an alleged simple assault.]
T.I. has already been released without bail and the case is pending.
UPDATE: T.I.’s attorney, Steven Sadow has issued the following statement on his behalf:
Tip was wrongfully arrested early this morning when he attempted to gain entrance into his gated community – where his wife ?Tiny? and his family reside. The guard was sound asleep when Tip arrived at the guardhouse. It took Tip some time to wake up the sleeping guard. Tip clearly identified himself and sought entry. The guard refused entry.
Tip was in contact with ?Tiny? by phone and ?Tiny? confirmed that Tip should be let in immediately. The guard continued to refuse entry without justification. Words were exchanged and apparently the guard and/or a supervisor called the police. When the police arrived, they were not interested in hearing Tip?s side of the story and wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting Tip.
