NEWSFLASH! ?Gladys Knight wants her name back!! The legendary songstress has apparently suffered enough with her association with her son’s restaurant.

Earlier this year Atlanta’s Gladys Knight’s Chicken and Waffles dramatically failed a health inspection (click HERE if you missed that) and a few months after that, the popular eatery was raided and shut down by the Georgia Department of Revenue.

Knight’s son Shanga Hankerson, was arrested and is facing charges for tax evasion and money laundering.

Gladys wants nothing to do with the controversy and is now seeking to remove her name and image from the restaurant, as well as all of her memorabilia.

TMZ?reports?that Gladys Knight isn’t holding back on the disappoint she feels about her son’s failed business acumen and now she’s suing him in order to protect her musical legacy!

Gladys wants the person now running the restaurants previously managed by her son,?Shanga Hankerson, to 86 her from signs and promotions for the chicken and waffle joints.

Gladys says she gave the green light to use her name and image for the restaurants back in ’99, but put the kibosh on the deal a few months ago after?the eateries were raided?by the Georgia Department of Revenue.

Her son was arrested for allegedly pocketing a million bucks.

In addition to money and an injunction, Gladys wants all her memorabilia adorning the restaurants returned to her.

Sounds fair to me.
