Ciara and baby Future grace the pages?of Essence magazine’s May 2016 anniversary issue, where the singer speaks candidly about how single motherhood wasn’t exactly on her ‘to-do’ list.

In an article titled,?Secret Garden, Ciara states that when Baby Future came into her life, so did a new focus on what matters most: her son and her faith.

The songstress said she was very specific in what she asked for in a man?and with her vision clear, she’s found the love of her life, Russell Wilson, who?recently asked for her hand in marriage?during a romantic trip to the Seychelles.

I remember telling my friend the kind of guy I wanted: a God-fearing man with a very fun spirit who loves kids and would really, truly care for me.

I was very specific because I do believe you can have it all.

Now that she?s found a new love, everything?s coming up roses. With a clear vision, a focus on family and a life firmly rooted in faith, singer?Ciara?promises in her latest interview that there are even more ?goodies? in store for her, her fans and the future.

The songstress reveals that she’s looking forward to marrying and building a life with her new family, stating:

Marriage is something I look forward to. I believe in family, and the beauty of two people committing to spend their lives together.

We talk about everything. To me, to both of us, that?s the foundation you need for love to flourish and reach its highest place. I want to live with as much lightness as possible, so I can stay focused on my love of God, and being the best mom, and the best person, I can be?
