VIDEO: Ebony Dickens Speaks Out About Arrest
Dickens states:
Facebook and social media platforms alike have given the public a powerful platform that for many of us will be else wise inaccessible. Following the stream of what most would consider unsolicited hate crimes against people of color in this country, I in my frustration and dismay used this platform as an outlet for an ironical status to show everyone how preposterous it sounds to target any group of people, whether connected by race or by position.
This message was meant for my closest Facebook friends and was never for mass distribution to the public. I did not deny that my actions were misguided. My soul purpose was to show how preposterous it’s it was to target any group of people based on race or position.
By exercising my right to freedom of speech and the most inalienable right of all to feel to be human, this humanity is not perfect.I am not against cops. I am not a racist. I am not a criminal. I have never been arrested or in jail for anything. In fact I live a life that shows the direct opposite. I’m a mother, a daughter, and a sister. I hold a degree in criminal justice and legal studies. I respect the roles and positions of law-enforcement it wake up every day with an aim to reform the ills of our nation.
I am on the side of all that is just and I pray the court will see justice in this case.
