Nick Gordon, the brother/lover/fake husband of Bobbi Kristina Brown, is speaking out against claims that he was responsible her death.

In amended court papers filed last Friday in Fulton County Superior Court, Bobbi Kristina’s court-appointed representative claimed Gordon struck the aspiring singer and gave her a “toxic cocktail” shortly before she was found unconscious on Jan. 31.

The wrongful death suit, which seeks at least $10 million in damages,?alleges Gordon put Bobbi Kristina face down in a tub of cold water in her suburban Atlanta home, causing her to suffer brain damage.

Gordon hasn’t been officially charged in relation to Bobbi Kristina’s death, so Gordon’s attorneys have issued a statement on his behalf calling?the lawsuit is “slanderous and meritless.”

Nick Gordon’s attorney, Joel Baez, issued the following statement on his behalf:

The recent lawsuit against Nick is slanderous and meritless.

Nick has been heartbroken and destroyed over the loss of his love and it’s shameful that such baseless allegations have been presented publicly.

Nick has engaged civil counsel and intends to defend the lawsuit vigorously and expose it for what it is: a fictitious assault against the person who loved Krissy most.

For the record, Baez led the defense team that represented Casey Anthony when she was acquitted for the murder of her 2-year-old daughter in 2011, so maybe Nick has a chance of getting out of this after all…

Only time will tell.
