The ladies return this week with a slew of unresolved issues.
Kandi Burruss is forced to cancel her stage play tour, Phaedra Parks faces tough decisions around Apollo’s return to prison, Cynthia Bailey learns that her daughter has a real life ‘love life,’ Nene dismisses the drama as she prepares for broadway, Claudia is still struggling to ‘fit in’ and Kenya is still ‘twirling’ all up in some other woman’s man’s face.
Recap + full video below…
Life Twirls On… without Demetria.
It seems that Roger Bobb is more pertinent to the Real Housewives of Atlanta than his ‘girlfriend’ Demetria McKinny. Bobb appears on the recent episode to meet with Kenya Moore… which is a bit odd since he can’t seem to ‘make time’ to appear on the show along side McKinney! (But I digress).
After years of doing nothing but causing drama playing the ‘wild card’ on tv, Kenya decides it’s time to dive back into her producing/acting career so she meets with Bobb to pitch a few ideas.
One of Moore’s ideas is ‘loosely’ based on her ‘real’ tv life as she states the character, ‘encounters a circle of mean girls who try to torment her for being so fabulous.’ [insert side-eye]
The characters of the ‘fictional’ drama include:
Nono – a 50yo 6ft tall cross gendered pole dancer.
Athena – a slick talking ‘jack of all trades’ mortician/Notary public/preacher who starts devastating rumors while pretending to be innocent.
DeeDee – a dingy chick who doesn’t know that the Underground Railroad wasn’t a real railroad.
Yeah Kenya… we get it. Whatever.
Kenya also reveals to Roger Bobb that the fictional ‘african prince’ she’s been claiming for years on RHOA is ‘loosely’ based on Eddie Murphy’s character on ‘Coming to America’ and she wants Murphy to play the role in her ‘fictional’ account of her ‘fictional’ tv life.
Roger Bobb seems to listen intently but when Kenya makes her move… i.e. states that she’s going to need him morning, noon and night, the super producer advises her that he has other obligations.
Kenya’s response to her ‘business’ proposal? ‘I’m not demetria. You will have to make time for me’.
I guess it’s just another day, another opportunity to ‘pitch’ business ideas for Kenya Moore-Whore.
Moving on.
Kandi abandons ‘A Mother’s Love’ tour…
Kandi struggles to pick up the pieces after she learns that her stage play tour has to be canceled.
[FLASHBACK: Grand Opening/Grand Closing: Kandi Cancels ‘A Mother’s Love’…]
While Kandi is absolutely heartbroken over the news, Todd takes it a bit better and seems to feel like it was all a learning experience.
When the couple tells their employees the news, Don Juan (Kandi’s manager) seems to think that Todd is to blame, but gets enlightened when he finds out the specifics.
It was the promotor they chose that dropped the ball and while the blame doesn’t fall on Kandi, she’s fearful that she’s going to have to shoulder the blame since her name was on the project.
Nene and Porsha bond over lunch/Cynthia & Leon Learn of Noelle’s Love of Poetry…
Porsha and NeNe do lunch and Porsha invites the veteran ‘housewife’ to a party being thrown in her honor by Dish Nation.
Nene congratulates Porsha, but notes that she can’t come since she’ll be in NYC preparing for her role on broadway.
She’s happy for Porsha but even more happy to stay away from the negativity involved with Team Pretty Petty (Cynthia, Claudia, & Kenya).
Meanwhile, Cynthia Bailey and Leon, her daughter’s father, are introduced to Noelle’s love of poetry.? The pair are shocked to hear an original piece from the pre-teen that reveals she has a flair for romantic writing.
As Noelle shares her work of art, her parents can’t help but wonder if she’s writing from a fictional perspective or sharing her personal experiences about her budding love life.
Claudia Jordan enlists Derek J to help her ‘fit in’ with the Atlanta girls.?The ‘fashion queen’?shows up at Claudia’s condo rocking ‘The Nene Leakes Collection’ and bearing gifts.
To get her acclimated to the Atlanta culture, Derek offers Claudia one of his custom made wigs as opposed to getting a head full of weave.
When Claudia tries on a long jet black number, she responds, ‘Great! Now maybe I can get a BLACK man!’ *sigh*

3 strikes?? Ummkay… Moving on.
Apollo?s date to report to prison draws near and both he and Phaedra are ?preparing for that date.
Phaedra pays a visit to Dr. Gregory Lunceford (the husband of Quad Webb-Lunceford from Married to Medicine), to seek advice about how to break the news of Apollo’s prison sentence to her sons.
Dr. G. advises her that the boys have no concept of prison and as long as the children have guidance and solid support system, they should have no problems understanding and adjusting to the news.
Even with assurance from Dr. G., Phaedra isn’t sure that she wants her sons to be exposed to prison or anything associated with it, including their dad! In her confessional, she states:
“I don’t care how much Apollo kicks & screams and goes to the club, I’m going to do what’s best for my children”
On the other side of town, Apollo meets with RHOA go-to attorney Randy Kessler to discuss his issues with Phaedra and his upcoming prison sentence.
The couple has been distant lately, and while no divorce has been filed, Apollo is concerned about seeing his kids while he’s incarcerated.
Porsha experiences harassment in the workplace…
Rickey Smiley throws a party to officially welcome Porsha to Dish Nation, the television segment of his radio show.
Even after ‘outing’ her co-working in Puerto Rico,?Claudia, who also works within the Smiley enterprise, seems to feel that Porsha should be cordial to her in the workplace.
Jordan decides to confront Williams during the party, which seems like another ploy to stir up drama. ?
Like really Clauda… why now? ?There’s a time and place for everything and confronting someone during a party being held in their honor seems a bit inconsiderate.
But then again… that’s what Jordan is there for.
Claudia explains that she just wants to be cordial in the workplace, but the confrontation seems to prove otherwise.
Porsha advises Claudia that it was her “gift of discernment” that determined that she and Claudia would never be friends. ?She didn’t like her energy and from all appearances, it seems like she was right (for once).
