The two are battling it out in the media yet again. This time, Reed has accused the 28 year-old Atlanta native of child abuse and the investigation (which has been opened and closed in Florida) has been reopened in Cobb County, Georgia!

Howard was originally investigated in Florida for?hitting 6-year-old Braylon, his son with Royce Reed with a belt and the b-ball player?admitted hitting his son but told authorities he didn’t know it was wrong because that’s how he grew up.

TMZ reports that a Florida doctor who examined the child determined the boy was hit with a belt buckle, struck with excessive force and was the victim of abuse, stating:

Dept. of Children and Families (DCF), summarized the findings of the doctor who examined Braylon.

It says, “Dr. Kesler noted Braylon to have a linear bruise and patterned abrasions consistent with the history given by Braylon of being struck with a belt numerous times by his father.”

However, in the Florida case,?DCF concluded the child abuse allegations were “not substantiated,” but in Florida that means there is “credible evidence” of child abuse, but not enough to warrant action.

Royce Reed hit the net to dispute news that the case was closed, stating:

The case has now been reopened in Cobb County, where the Houston Rockets star resides during the off-season.

A Georgia law enforcement source revealed to TMZ that ?People who were not so forthcoming before today [Monday] have been.?

The source also adds that detectives did several one-on-one interviews Monday and say the case ?has now been raised to the top of the list.?

Dwight’s camp issued the following statement regarding the matter:

It is appalling to see a mother use her son as a pawn against his father in an attempt to extract money, which is what is happening in this case.
