It looks like Brandy?may be having the worst week ever!

Seems B-Rocka just can’t seem to catch a break.?Not only is she still playing second fiddle to Monica?after all these years [yea I said it], but last weekend she was forced to come face to face with reality in South Africa.

If you believe what you?read on the blogs, which ‘quiet as kept’ are your most reliable sources these days,?Brandy was at the epicenter of a vicious rumor from this past weekend, which had the once multi-platinum singer/songwriter performing to 90,000 empty arena seats in South Africa.

Leave it to social media to spill the specifics, as twitter went into a frenzy and all the tea was spilled about the most embarrassing moment…

Initially mum on the subject, the newly engaged BET startlet managed to scrape up some coins and put out a response to the incident via her official spokesman, who states:

Brandy was booked at the last minute to fly to South Africa to support a “cause”–not a concert. It was a cause that honored “Mr. Nelson Mandela” and there was other performers on the bill besides Brandy.

She attended because she wanted to support the foundation and Mr. Mandela…a man who has changed history.

This whole story has been blown out of proportion and Brandy has sold out shows across the world including South Africa before.

While I didn’t get my South African planner this month, something smells foul about this one. Mandela is an worldwide icon. So the sparse crowd was for such a celebrated man?

After a quick google search I can’t find any publications backing her story.

Damn shame.

Did Brandy use the convenience of Mandela’s recent medical battle to save face for her embarrassing lack of ticket sales ? Interesting… what are your thoughts?
