VIDEO: Teen Arrested for Impersonating Officer on Facebook
According to a police report, Bellamy posed as an officer of the law in an effort to coerce around 30 women to meet him for sex.
Authorities received a phone call from Tonya Godwin claiming an officer was harassing her on March 14.
Godwin stated a male identifying himself as Officer Jamie Jernigan with the Horry County Police Department was sending her unwanted messages on Facebook in an attempt to meet her for sex.
Real police officers messaged the teen, who denied ever speaking to the woman. He also claimed to have no idea what the cops were asking him about.
The woman?s Facebook wall was set for public viewing and she said that the officer-impersonator contacted as many as 30 of her other female friends, all through messages rather than wall postings.
Godwin also said that when the man would call her, he?d say he was making traffic stops or fighting brush fires. At times she said she could hear sirens in the background (which clearly meant he was law enforcement, right?), and he gave her a picture of a white male with a military crew cut.
She said the?supposed policeman?requested she meet him at the fire station for a sexual encounter, which she refused. She said at that point, the phony officer began calling her names and she asked him to not contact her any further.
As well as posing as a police officer, Bellamy claimed to be in the U.S. Marines, as well as a volunteer firefighter. Authorities were able to track the teen down by the phone numbers he used to call the women.
Bradley Alonzo Bellamy was booked and charged with two counts of impersonating a police officer. He was released over the weekend.
