General Larry Platt, the breakout star of the 2010 season of American Idol, was spotted out and about recently and showed me some “A” town love (peep the t-shirt!)
Platt performed his self-written hit “Pants on the Ground” on the red carpet of the Grammy Awards in 2010 [click here if you missed it], wasn’t nominated for Song of the Year this year (imagine that) and he’s pretty much dissolved into obscurity, but not because he ain’t trying.
Platt is still on the grind, trying to get his “Pants on the Ground” CD heard around town. The 65 year old singing sensation died an early death online in the form of fictional death reports, but rest assured he’s still alive and kickin’ and dancing and singing…
The “General” who earned the title after a well documented history during Atlanta’s Civil Rights movement, gladly gave me a lil serenade of his hit song recently. I think he was just happy to be noticed.
If you got a few minutes to spare, check out the video of General Larry Platt’s StraightFromTheA rendition of “Pants on the Ground” PLUS he shows that old folks can still bust a move, as he pops locks & drops it to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”.
