There are just some people that I would never imagine meeting at ANY function that would allow me entrance… and one of them is Bono!
I ran up on Bono and a guy that looked like his bandmate, Larry Mullin, as they were perusing the artwork at “The Next Cool Thing” event this weekend and I immediately lost all my focus.? I was there supporting my BFF Interior Decorator Extraordinaire DanaT and I was no longer “ATLien” the blogger… I was Michelle the fan!!!? This may be an “urban” site, but I looooves me some U2! *swoon*
If I was thinking like a blogger, I woulda pulled out the flip cam I keep in my purse for cases like this, but that wasn’t even on my mind. I was too busy telling Bono how much I admired him and all he’s done for the world and blushing because he said I was pretty.? Shoot…? if it wasn’t for my friend Pierre, I wouldn’t have even thought to take a picture. I was just happy to meet him.
[Sidebar: I still remember how buttery soft Bono’s black leather jacket was against my skin… and he smelled like apples! yummm! Oh wait. Maybe it was those sour apple martini’s I was smelling.]
Needless to say, this man has touched millions. Not only with is music, but with his humanitarian efforts across the globe.? Bono has every right to throw Diva-tude, but he didn’t at all. He was so cool that I was almost shocked.? So I do this post to thank Bono for being so gracious during my moment of groupie-ism.
I am so honored to have exchanged a few words with such an icon and will forever be touched.
