Rapper Gangsta Boo aka Lola Mitchell was arrested by Olive Branch police Tuesday after turning herself in for armed robbery. The former member of the popular Memphis group Three Six Mafia was wanted in connection with the heist of a local dollar store that occurred last July.

Mitchell is accused of being linked to the main suspect in the crime, 28-year-old Marcus Curtis. According to police, Marcus Curtis stormed into a Dollar General store on July 28 armed with a gun and forced employees to give him bags of the store’s money. Curtis is currently in jail with a $100,000 bond charged with felony armed robbery in the case.

While investigators won’t comment on Lola “Gangsta Boo” Mitchell’s role in the hold up, they say the 30 year old rapper also played a major role in the robbery.? She was released on a $100,000 bond and faces a charge of conspiracy to commit the crime of armed robbery.

Gangsta Boo claims to be releasing a statement At 5PM today, which will fully address the charges and allegations made against her. “Remember the system is set up [to] set [you] up,” Gangsta Boo tweeted. “Be careful of who you have around you.”

Memphis is hardcore! The first 48 hours is testament to that… but a robbing a Dollar General? Really??? One question…. “Where Dem Dollars At?”
