Am I the only one who’s been missing the antics of Huey, Riley & Granddad? Well don’t fret…cause according to Aaron McGruder, mastermind behind the hit adult cartoon series, there will be a Season 3 coming soon. Most likely in early 2010. The TV-MA-rated satire first premiered on Adult Swim in 2005. The first season, which consisted of 15-episodes, ended on March 19, 2006. The second season premiered on October 8, 2007 and consisted of 15 episodes; however only 13 episodes were aired.
Can you believe we’ve been watching re-runs for over 2 years now? Series creator, Aaron McGruder, speaks of the show on his TWITTER and confirmed recently that the third season is currently under production and due to air in early 2010. As proof that they’re in the production stages, Aaron tweeted out a few screenshots of the new season and you may be surprised at how the characters are aging. He also gave us a bit of insight on a few new characters:
Man… if y’all thought Ruckus was mean, what til you see his father and grandmother! Season 3 is coming, just can’t say when. Patience!

Grandad looks like he’s hangin on by a thread.
I dunno what’s going on with Tom. I bet he had some sort of plastic surgery procedure 😆
The artistry may seem a bit different. That’s because the show has transferred it’s animation work work from Adelaide Productions in Culver City, to a staff in Korea. If you’ve never seen The Boondock’s controversial show, you’re in store for a treat next season. I’ve read that a show is already in the works which pokes fun at the Swine Flu epidemic. It’s tentatively titled “Kentucky Fried Flu” but the name is subject to change.
I wonder if all the top dogs will return for voice work? Regina King was the voice of both Huey & Riley, John Whiterspoon was the voice of Grandad and Samuel L. Jackson was even featured as quite a few voices. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for season 3!!
