Can you guess who was spotted showing off her 6 carot diamond engagment ring recently?
Hint: “Love don’t cost a thing” but from the looks of this rock it costs plenty…

Chris Brown says he’s “very sad and very ashamed” of his actions regarding Rihanna and has made a video apologizing to her and to all of his fans. He states in the video that he’s seeking help, will do anything in his power to prevent it from happening again and is leaning on his family and counselors for spiritual guidance.
The apology seems sincere to me…and if Rihanna can forgive him why can’t we?? Video below:

I spotted this video a while ago but totally forgot to post it but I’m sure you Dungeon Family fans will appreciate this video footage captured during their Vibe cover shoot in Piedmont Park last month.?? I’m prone to believe the consensus that a Dungeon Family reunion is the only thing that could save this town.
The Dungeon Family. The first shall be last and the last shall be first. Anybody who has been here since the mid-90s can tell you that even moreso than Dallas and Jermaine and only second to LaFace, the DF made Atlanta cool, so only they can reinstitute the groove and save the city. If that fails, expect me to speak to you from New York or Los Angeles in 2010. ~ via TheUnderwriter’s “Why Atlanta is Dying Off”
There’s way too much infiltration going on and we need to bring it back full circle. Back to OUR sound….go straight NATIVE on they “A”zz. *sigh* In the meantime, we’ll all just burn out our “A”pods listening to classics like Outkast’s Southernplaylisticadillacmuzik, Goodie Mob’s Soul Food and Witchdoctor’s A S.W.A.T. Spiritual Healing.

Check out this new previously unreleased song from Keri Hilson produced by super producer Timbaland called “The Ring”. I’m still trying to figure out if I like it or not. The beat is OK…but I was expected so much more on the vocals. I dunno. I love Ms. KeriBaby but this song’s got me feeling some kinda way right now…

Monica and Mama Jones (Polow’s Mom)
In partnership with Upscale magazine, super producer Polow Da Don along with his label, Zone 4, Inc, launched the F.O.C.U.S. foundation last week. F.O.C.U.S = Focusing On Completion Until Successful and concentrates on promoting a desire for education, interpersonal skills, networking and marketability within the community.
Mama & Papa Jones ~ You may remember them from my alltime favorite Polow Da Don video.
Polow was said to be out of the country but in his absence, R&B diva Monica held down the “Night of Stars” event, which took place at Club Opera. Most (including me) were totally unaware that Mo was also grabbing footage for her new BET reality show ‘Still Standing’ so I’ll definitely be on the lookout for my cameo.

Guests were treated to a fashion show which featured select styles from local boutiques, such as Jason Geter’s Striver’s Row and T.I.s AKOO label. There were also treats available in the form of liquor cakes created by “Get Cake” founder Renee Rosenthal and DJ Don Cannon kept the crowd hyped.
Willie Hustle & DJ Don Cannon chillin in the booth.
In addition to the red carpet fashion show, Zone 4’s newest addition, The Hemphill Kids also performed a tribute to Michael Jackson.? Check out the video and more photos from the event below:
Lil Kim teamed up with Cyndi Lauper for a duet of Lauper’s ‘Time After Time” with a sprinkling of Kim’s “Put Your Lighter’s Up”performed in honor of Nelson Mandela during ?The Mandela Day Concert ? A 46664 Celebration? at Radio City Music Hall. Proceeds from the concert went to support 46664, the humanitarian campaign named after Mandela?s prison ID number.
“Our struggle for freedom and justice was a collaborative effort,” Mandela said in a taped message. “‘Mandela Day’ is no different. It is in your hands to create a better world.”
It was an odd pairing and I, personally, woulda never thought of Kimmie as a singer, but she didn’t do quite as horrible as I would have envisioned. I mean…it’s not something I’d be playing in my headphones but it was definitely entertaining to say the least!
Shouts out to my Twitter friend SinnamonS for the link. Check out the video below:
