Perry recently confirmed the good news about his pending fatherhood and even confirmed suspicions that the mother of his first child is Gelila Bekele, the model he’d been seen with occasionally, however many still have questions and are side-eying Perry’s good news.

subject: GF or surrogate? You broke the story on Tyler Perry’s so called girlfriend Gelilia Bekele having a boyfriend last year~ Ronnie Madra. Why isn’t anybody picking up the fact that last year she was madly in love with someone else? Now she’s about to give birth.
I’m curious if she’s still seeing Madra and having a baby for Tyler Perry as a surrogate or if Tyler Perry has actually secretly married her? Something seems strange with this timing.
Nobody has talked to Ronnie Madra. Can you offer more to this story?
Thanks for your hard work for us ATLiens!

All I know is that Perry says she’s his ‘baby mama’ and the specifics on how she was impregnated is clearly between the two of them.
Whatever the case, the 45 year old father to be recently spoke about parenthood during a visit to The Today Show…
Perry stopped by TODAY Tuesday to promote his new film and told host Tamron Hall that he’s happy to go to Lamaze classes with girlfriend Gelila Bekele, but as for joining her in the delivery room? “I don’t know,” he said. “You got to pray for me on that! I don’t know.”
While the man behind the “Madea” film franchise didn’t reveal when his little one is expected to arrive, he did explain that he’s already made changes to his busy schedule to prepare.
“I’ve slowed down on film for a while,” he said. “I’m just working on television, which allows me time to be home and slow things down ? which is very important right now.”
Perry’s fans will have at least one more chance to see him on the big screen before the baby arrives. He stars in the highly anticipated mystery “Gone Girl,” which opens in theaters nationwide Oct. 3.
All publicity is good publicity… especially when there’s a movie to be promoted. In other words, this baby news came right on time for Perry’s press tour!
