Gucci aka Radric Davis has been arrested several times over the last few years and now the popular Atlanta rapper finds himself in the clink yet again!
Gucci Mane finally turned himself in to Atlanta authorities Tuesday evening, after learning there was a warrant out for his arrest.
Davis finds himself in the slammer (yet again) after being accused of hitting a U.S. soldier over the head with a champagne bottle during a scuffle at Atlanta’s Harlem Nightclub on March 16, 2013.
According to WSBTV 2, the 33-year-old rapper turned himself in and was taken to Atlanta’s Fulton County Jail early Wednesday morning to face assault charges.
The soldier, identified only as James, claims he was celebrating his birthday at Harlem Nights when the attack occurred.
After asking Gucci Mane for a photo, he says he was hit in the head with a champagne bottle.
“I’m in the military. I wanted to get a picture with Gucci Mane, is it OK?” James said he asked the security guard.
“I was speaking to the security guard, and Gucci Mane hit me in the head with a bottle.”
James reportedly had to be taken to Atlanta’s Grady Memorial hospital in an ambulance, where he received 10 stitches.
Police issued an arrest warrant for Gucci last Friday on aggravated assault charges.
“Mr. Davis has a history, we’re not going to skirt that issue, and that history made it difficult for him to get bond today,” defense attorney Drew Findling said after the hearing.
But wait… there’s more! A second man also came forward this week claiming that Gucci assaulted him as well.
The alleged victim, who asked to be identified only as “T.J.”, said Gucci assaulted him two nights after the ‘Harlem Nights’ incident, stating:
“I haven’t ever been so humiliated in my life and disrespected,” said the victim, “He punched me on the left side of my face, right here in the jaw, knocking off my glasses.”
“I sustained a chipped tooth in the back. I sustained also swelling on the left side.” (source)
That assault allegedly took place at Club Onyx in Philly on March 18th, where Gucci performed earlier in the night. After the show, TJ said he tried to shake hands with and meet the rapper when he was punched.
T.J. said he feels betrayed by an artist he’s supported for years. “You just don’t go around hitting your fans,” TJ said.
The moral of this story? Don’t ask Gucci Mane for shiiiit… especially a photo in the club!
