My sources say that the Frank & Wanda Morning show will come to an end one day this week (possibly tomorrow), with a “big announcement” coming from Frank Ski sometime during their morning broadcast.
The news is not surprising to morning show radio connoisseurs, who felt that Frank & Wanda’s show desperately needed a major facelift.
While Frank’s latest effort definitely made listeners tune-in (for a day), many had already permanently changed the channel, preferring to listen to syndicated morning shows like The Steve Harvey Morning Show or The Rickey Smiley Morning Show.
A few years back, during the time of Frank Ski’s contract re-negotiations, Rodney Ho of the AJC’s Radio & TV Talk section polled Atlantans on whether V-103 should keep Frank Ski… over half (59% ) voted “No”.
Frank Ski has often been criticized for his staunch support of Bishop Eddie Long during his sex scandal, although now he reportedly attends another Atlanta church.
During it’s hayday, the show featured Frank Ski, Wanda Smith and cross-dressing sidekick Miss Sophia, who is still seeking acknowledgement from Tyler Perry for “stealing” ideas for his Mada Character.

Frank is rumored to be replaced by popular afternoon host Ryan Cameron, who’s been patiently eyeing the morning spot for years now.
I heard that Cameron will be joined by his former sidekick Elle Duncan, who left V-103 and ventured briefly into television on WXIA-TV (ch 11) Atlanta’s NBC affiliate.
It seems Frank may have already felt the pressure to find another career, as he partnered with longtime friend DJ Tayrock to venture into the restaurant business a little over a year ago. Frank even hired his former morning show producer, Nina Brown, (who was coincidentally fired from V-103 after an incident will Elle Duncan) to assist with promoting & managing his Frank Ski Restaurant venture.
The Frank & Wanda Show has definitely ran it’s course.

Steve Harvey is too much. If I wanted to hear a sermon early in the morning, I would have went to church. He is too close minded. I turned my radio off when he said "if you dont believe in god and the bible, then dont talk to me, because you have no moral compass and there is nothing that can be learned from you". Though i no longer live in ATL, when i did live there, I could barely stomach Frank and Wanda. Frank always new everything. Wanda was cool and I actually liked Miss Sophia. Oh well, it’s time for something new and fresh in the morning in MANY markets in this country; not just ATL. Hopefully, Wanda will have success after this show.
But, let me just say this…sometimes "We" just love to hate people…it’s a thin line. When you get the replacement of Ol Big Headed Frank and Ms Wanda…Y’all probably are gonna miss them. People never miss what they got until it’s gone. Think about it.

I will miss Frank he and Wanda have been a staple while I get ready for work since I moved to Atlanta 5 years ago. I will say that I do prefer the show when Frank is out and it’s Ryan and Wanda though. Elle is OK but I never liked her in the mornings so I am not that interested in her coming back if Ryan takes Frank’s place. I would rather it be him and Wanda. I thought Elle’s afternoon show was cool though.
It’s fascinating to me how much v103 has recycled and tried to make Elle fit over there. Never seen that before.

I currently listen to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. If Ryan gets the morning show, I will be switching! I love Ryan Cameron in the afternoons. This will be great for Atlanta! Finally a morning show with a personality that is actually from Atlanta (other than Rashan Ali on 94.5). Ryan Cameron is a radio veteran and this promotion is well-deserved and long overdue. I hope that Kenny Burns will get Ryan’s old spot during 2pm-6pm.

I didnt care for their morning show, for it to be the “people station” I thought it was more about Frank and his views.. They had a long run, but change is good.
When I lived in Atlanta (for a few months in 2005) and then again (2010-2012), i’d listen to Frank Wanda, they were pretty cool. I’m not a huge fan of syndicated shows because they don’t speak directly to what’s going on in your area. Either way, I wish all parties involved well. FYI-Kenny Burns doesn’t have a voice for radio at all, and i’m still trying to figure out, how did he get in the position he’s in today *blank stare*

I agree Atlanta radio is dead. They need to reach to a broader demographic considering that there are so many transplants from other cities living in the Atlanta Metro area. The problem though lies with the fact that Atlanta is such a "kiss a** city" that they won’t find a radio personality like Wendy, Missjones, or Star and Buc. All of the DJ’s down there LOOOOVE everybody, LOOOOOVE all of the artists songs, I swear none of the DJ’s down there have a real opinion on anything but the damn weather.

Ryan does not WANT the morning show slot; as afternoons are better for his family life. The promo demands of the morning show does not allow him to actively participate in his kids activities.

I am soooooooooooooo glad it’s about to be over. I stopped listening to V103 months now. I stopped listening to them about a year ago. I listen to Rickey Smiley on the way to work & stream Pandora or Jango. Frank is always on vacation anyway. I won’t miss them, but I’m looking forward to Ryan in the AM. Ryan keeps me entertained.

I liked the Frank & Wanda Morning show and will miss it mainly because of Wanda. I liked her around-the-way home-girl style not coonish at all to me. To me she balanced out Frank’s over opinionated stuff because she was like whatever and laid back. They had THE BEST interviews asked all the right questions. Felt more like a family show. I like Ryan Cameron but not sure if I want to hear his mouth that early in the mornings. Elle Duncan can stay gone no one misses her sorry.

It took you all a long time to realize that Frank Ski doesn’t care about anything but himself. We don’t want him back in Baltimore. He left in such a negative way (to go to a "better" market) that we all remember how he did us. All we heard was how he loved Atlanta, and how Atlanta loved him. I guess you all found out the hard way. Maybe he should revise "Doo Doo Brown" (B-More knows who that is).
Glad frank and Wanda are leaving! The only thing good thing was the inspirational vitamin. Frank was too opinionated and not once did I ever agree with the crap he said. Wanda was crazy, but certainly not funny or professional. I’m very happy about this! although I listen to Rickey smiley anyway. That fool is crazy! Love his show!
WOW!! I didn’t know that there were so many Frank and Wanda haters in the A!! I enjoyed the show. They did a lot for the community and the fact that they stopped playing music to address social issues was wonderful. Ricky Smiley’s voice annoyed the hell out of me and Steve Harvey is just too damn country! I only listened the the prank call and changed the station back to V-103. I think Frank and Wanda balanced each other. Yeah he was a little arrogant and Wanda was a little Miami, but I loved the contrast. I love Ryan but I guess that I’m the only person here that will miss their show. I guess I will just have to tune into their sister station news talk radio a little earlier.
Here’s the real deal. Frank is under investigation for misappropriating funds from his Frank Ski Kids Foundation after his long time confidant and business manager was discovered absconding with more than $300,000 and fleeing to Nigeria. She returned last summer and was immediately arrested and held in Fulton County Jail, but released after posting a $100,000 bond. You can probably deduce from that that she’s singing like a canary to the authorities in order to save her bacon. Further, Frank is taking steps to secure his financial future by unloading all major assets, selling his house (since he and his wife split more than a year ago and are headed for divorce court). With all that being said, V103 knows what’s coming down the pike in 3 to 6 months and decided it wanted nothing to do with Frank’s impending legal difficulties. Quite simply, they’ve hung him out to DRY!
Now, that’s the tea!! Talk about some smoke in the city.
