But most agree that a recent viral video currently circulating went way too far!
Adam Smith, a Tuscon Arizona man, posted an online video of himself going through a Chick-fil-A drive-thru and ordering only the free water.
What he did to that poor Chick-fil-A cashier got him a ton of criticism and also got him a spot on the unemployment line.

“Chick-fil-A is a hateful company,” Smith tells the employee.
“I don’t know how you sleep at night,” Smith adds at another point. “This is a horrible corporation with horrible values.”
The employee never loses her composure and even wishes Smith a nice day. He then responds:
“I will. I just did something really good. I feel purposeful.
[Sidebar: If by “purposeful” he means “lost his job” then yup… he won!
Smith got a pink slip from his gig as chief financial officer of Vante, a Tucson medical manufacturing company, after the video made the rounds.
Vante’s CEO, Roger Vogel, issued the following statement regarding the incident:
“Vante regrets the unfortunate events that transpired yesterday in Tucson between our former CFO/Treasurer Adam Smith and an employee at Chick-fil-A,” the company said in a statement. “Effective immediately, Mr. Smith is no longer an employee of our company.”
We hope that the general population does not hold Mr. Smith’s actions against Vante and its employees,” the statement continued.
Vogel said he wasn’t weighing in on either side of the debate, which began when Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy said he supports the “biblical” definition of marriage. Same-sex marriage advocates blasted the company, which in turn prompted a national outpouring of support for the chicken chain on Wednesday. (source)

Get over what? Wanting the same rights as other people? Get over legislation that reinforces/supports their rights as human beings to love who they want and not worry about being relegated to second class status? It’s easy in this day and time to act as if it’s ok to use the bible to hold another group of people down because of their sexuality and have people who should know better jump on the bandwagon. But none of us should forget the bible and some of its’ text was used to justify slavery as well as 2nd class status of women of ALL colors. I’m not saying anyone has to change their beliefs to suit others or live their life to please others but why not practice a little love and compassion? None of us alive know what God’s true plan is or even if the bible’s text is real…we believe based on our faith. If homosexuality is wrong I’m sure God is more than capable of taking care of his/her own business, if I believe the bible and it’s mandates my only job on this earth is to love my neighbor, not judge and forgive as God has forgiven me for my multitude of sins. BTW we don’t live in ancient times we can now scan the brain with the use of PET and MRI and actually see the difference in the brain of heterosexual and homosexuals. And if anyone has ever had a child, friend, family member, etc that identified with being either gay, lesbian or transgendered they can tell you it’s NOT just some decision they made based on any current fads. I can’t imagine if I were a lesbian and because I knew I would garner all sorts of hatred disguised in love it would make me want to not live my life to the fullest, have a true relationship with another woman, etc. Just like I can’t change being black and female; without the appropriate changes in legislation my behind would still be treated like an animal or less than creature without the same rights as others in our society. My doorstep is not always clean and I choose to sweep around my own before I go next door meddlin’ in what I might not really understand because it’s not happening to me.

I agree with Curiousone. Black people have forgotten that it hasn’t been long since we have been able to legally marry, 1896. We were jumping a broom to make it legal in our eyes. I personally think we as a culture should be ashamed of ourshelves. We marched for inalienable rights and to be treated equally and fairly but we will not offer the same for others. Please note, it’s only been since 1967 that interracial couples were able to marry legally as well. I’m excluding other cultures and religions that was restricted as well. I find it ridiculous that the same people who were discriminated against not only verbally but legally can preach on the pullpit against other rights in the name of God. God is for everyone and commands us to love and not to judge. They just want the right to marry and be in a legally bond relationship which comes with protection. Any dope can walk up and get married. Ironically two illegal people can sneak in this country and be able to marry legally because they are of the opposite sex. They are American citizens with natural human rights. Plus we all know the people have destroy family values and marriage through their poor actions of cheating. The divorce rate and some straight folks don’t even get a change to marry anyway because no one wants them yet they want to prevent someone else. SMH
The only person that you can change is yourself. You can’t change peoples views, opinions are ideas. If they are lawmakers and make laws you can’t change the basis for what they do. So I will say again get over it. Judging someone is not gonna to change someone else’s behavior, so why do people still do it. I don’t know. OMG..some people are so ignorant. And all this fuss about something like this is ridiculous. I worked for Chic-fil-a in highschool and that was great way to get me started on my work path. Any company or business closed on Sundays more than likely is a CHRISTIAN Based organization. They are closed so that families can worship together on Sundays and another place that comes to mind is Hobby Lobby so what they gone do boycott them for their beliefs. All of this is so crazy. I am Christian and I don’t necessarily agree with the lifestyle but do I support Hate groups no. I think the CEO who has been a Christian all his life doesn’t hate gay people but he just doesn’t agree with it. Considering the fact there are some gays who have worked for the company in the past (where I’m from) doesn’t mean the company will mistreat any one. The only thing ppl have to do is treat you as a person good. If chic-fil-a wasn’t hiring ppl or not serving ppl because of their sexuality that would be a different story. Besides boycotting chic-fil-a over an opinion is not going to guarantee myself a job when i graduate college, or make the economy better for when my younger sisters get older. You know for a fact that if it were your average disgruntled employee this video would have been Rated R and far worse than how it turned out. They are smart, intelligent, kind, considerate, beautiful, talented, etc. They should not be mistreated, disrespected, abused, etc., due to their sexual orientation.
I just don’t agree with men marrying men and woman marrying women. I love them and I hope they are mature enough to respect my morals. I’m sure most can, but some can’t. I’ve been around some gay people who are more respectful than straight people; so I do not dislike gay people, just because of my stance on the marriage issue.
How can one be so into him/herself to think that, "If you don’t except my abnormal way of life, than I’m going to hate you…boycott you…etc?" Are you not doing the same as the ones you are criticizing?

Gays have a choice to act on the feelings that they have just like a iar has a choice to tell the lie. The point is we all have a cross to carry be it gay/forincator/liar/theif…whatever when Adam sinned it opened the door for all sorts of perversion…sexual and otherwise..but when Jesus shed his blood He provided forgiveness for our sins and the Holy Spirit provides the power and the grace to overcome whatever your sin of choice is.
