Marlo Hampton, this season’s Real Housewives of Atlanta socialite convict, is apparently feeling some kinda way about my recent blog posts, so much so that she’s chosen to respond.

First came the threats… and then the “OFFICIAL STATEMENT” follows. Perfect timing!
Please read the following “official statement” sent by Marko Marlon Marlo’s “people”…
“I am shocked and saddened to hear of the recent distortions of events and false accusations disseminated over an altercation I was involved in over a dozen years ago. It had been my preference, out of respect for the person involved, as well as her family, to not speak about this incident publicly, but the recklessness with which the story is being manipulated has forced me to come forward.
I was in my early twenties, and what took place started out as an argument with someone who was once my friend, over the phone. In the first incident, I was ambushed at my house and badly beaten. Though charges were initially filed, those charges were later dropped and I filed a restraining order.
As disturbing as the carrying of a weapon may seem, it was quite common in the environment in which I was raised, and not only I, but also the person involved in the altercation, had each brought weapons to protect ourselves. There was a confrontation, her knife dropped, mine did not.

I was arrested and convicted of aggravated battery for which I served 6 months in jail. What is so disturbing about the false reports now circulating is that it was she, my friend, who appeared in court on my behalf and fought to reduce my sentence.
Like many people, I was deeply saddened by her untimely death – 6 years later – and shocked at the recent attempts to connect me to it. Ultimately, it does a disservice to her and her family, to guess and draw conclusions as to her state of mind when she committed suicide. Those reasons are obviously personal and painful and do not deserve to be speculated on for the purposes of entertainment or drawing readers to your site. She and her family remain in my prayers.
My attorneys will be sending a cease and desist letter with a request for retraction shortly.
So I’m guessing I’m being asked to ‘cease and desist’ telling the truth? Chile please…

Marlo claims now in her statement to Straight from the A that she was the first to be jumped at her home and charges were filed and she got a restraining order. But then she mentions the charges against her victim were dropped. Okay. Where are the records of this? I couldn’t find them…oh, wait. That’s because it’s another fake-out by this slick pro con artist.
TIMELINE GOES LIKE THIS:
In March, Marlo slashes up MW’s face.
The police investigate for two months to build their case and define the charges. Meanwhile, Marlo knows she’s in trouble. Hires an attorney. And tries to petition the court in April to have MW charged for battery for an incident that supposedly happened in FEBRUARY . This was all part of her defense strategy at the time, it’s obvious. She was trying to get a jump on it. The police decline arrest.
In April, Marlo files to have charges brought against MW- ONE MONTH AFTER SHE SLASHED THAT GIRL’S FACE. The court tries to find probable cause, as required when a person goes to thru the judicial system, rather than or because the police won’t arrest anyone.
In May, Marlo is finally arrested for slashing up MW’s face.
Meanwhile her case against her victim drags on and finally in August: No probable cause was found, no arrests made. There were no charges. The county filed a motion asking the court NOT to prosecute. THAT is a fact.
Marlo thinks she’s slick by saying the case was dropped against her victim. She’s tryin to imply that there WERE charges filed and arrests made but that MW got lucky somehow and she didn’t. No. Marlo tried her damndest to get MW arrested and charged and FAILED. The case that was dropped was looking for probable cause to warrant an arrest. Nothing came of it. The prosecution filed a motion asking the judge not to prosecute. Case closed.
PS. THERE WAS NO RESTRAINING ORDER. I looked. Why would there be? Chick was in jail and then on probation, you don’t need an order of protection when you’re in lock up! Please.
I think it’s despicable to try and slander a dead person just because you think you can. Just because she’s dead, doesn’t mean that you get to say whatever you want! Bish went too far.
If you dig deep in Clearwater, St Pete and Tampa, Marlo has this game down pat. MW wasn’t the first person she tried to have charges brought up against (and failed)! Or the second! By the time this incident came around she had plenty of practice tryin to set people up. Then….wait for it… a few days after the altercation and tryin to file charges on her, he gets investigated for various drug charges (he has prior convictions of selling drugs).
