My favorite celebrity photographer, Derek Blanks unveiled his new and improved website last weekend during an event hosted by NeNe Leakes of the Atlanta Housewives. The event was held at 595 North Friday evening and the walls were ablaze with Derek’s masterpieces.? From Jennifer Hudson to Monica…From Akon to Usher and from T.I. to David Banner. Derek has shot them all.
I managed to arrive LATE and without my memory card in my camera!? The life of a blogger… *sigh* but I love Derek so much that I prepared a lil montage video from the event in his honor. Check it out below:
Shouts out to Derek’s assistant, Robert Ector and make-up artist Toni Acey!
Derek’s photography is nothing less than spectacular and he’s well known for turning images into art. I’m still saving my pennies for my Alter Ego photoshoot (and currently taking donations!) but you can hit up Derek at his new site, DBlanks.com to view his work and/or to contact him for your next shoot.

Check out the video for Ciara’s “Never Ever” which features Young Jeezy. The song, produced By Polow Da Don is CiCi’s official first single off of her third studio album Fantasy Ride and is scheduled to be released April 6, 2009. The video is directed By Chris Robinson and you’ll spot several A-town favs chillin in the background.?? Enjoy!
I was feeling a bit nostalgic and wanted to post Killer Mike’s “A.D.I.D.A.S.” as today’s flashback but noticed I already had it in the archives, so my compromise is Outkast’s “The Whole World” which features Killer Mike.
Enjoy.

While I was tailing T.I.’s “A”zzzz all over Atlanta Saturday night, my boo, Shaquille O’Neal was partying it up at Esso’s. I ain’t mad though cause I don’t normally do clubs…[insert side eye here] but when I saw the pics my heart did sort of drop at bit!? Anywhoo, regardless of all the Atlanta jumpoff nonesense, Shaq is still my all-time favorite so what-EV. Oh…and I almost forgot that my boo just exceed his long-time rival Hakeem ?The Dream? Olajuwon on the NBA?s All-time Scoring List to land solidly at number 7. Goooo Shaqie! By the way…Dominique’s at number 10.
The Hoop Doctors broke it down a bit better than me, since I look at the men in the game and not the scores. They even brought up this old Taco Bell commercial that made fun of Shaq and Hakeem’s on court feuding:
*sigh* I love heeeeeee!

Memphis legends 8Ball and MJG held a private listening party at Grand Hustle studios a few nights ago. From Suave House to Bad Boy and now finally home with Grand Hustle, the duo premiered several hot joints for the invited crowed.? The theme of the session was “Jury Duty” and 8Ball invited all to issue their criticism.? I arrived late (as usual) but caught a few of the songs.? I’ve been a fan for so long, it wouldn’t really have mattered much anyway, but the lil bit I heard I liked and judging from the clip below, I think Tip did too:
