During the 2009 BET Hip Hop Awards, Gucci Mane performed onstage at least 4 times with different artists but it was his performance of “Wasted” that warranted a public service announcement. BET, in an effort to discourage youths from celebrating in being drunk and wasted, ran the brief PSA from Gucci Mane himself advising all watching that he’s serious about his sobriety:
Yeah it’s ya boy Gucci. I want y’all to know that I do make party records and it’s all fun. But on a serious note, I’m taking my own sobriety very seriously. And this is for real. It’s coming from ya boy Gucci. Be safe.
I wonder who’s taking the credit for this PSA. Gucci’s probation officer or BET? Performance video below: Continue Reading…
You may have heard Mike Epp’s song ‘Ain’t Chu You’ on a previous “A” Pod (Click Here if you missed it) but the video has finally been released. Of course if’s full of classic Day-Day…oops! I mean Mike Epps hilarity! The video was filmed in the “A” and features Dorrough, Young Dro and a Nitti beat.
A new video has recently been released from H-Town. You remember H-Town dontcha? Ok… lemme refresh your memory ~~> Knockin the Boots?? OK. Now that you’ve been reminded, H-Town originally consisted of members Darryl “G.I.” Jackson and his longtime friends, Solomon “Shazam” Conner and Shazam’s twin brother, Keven “Dino” Conner. The 3rd member of the group, Dino was killed in an automobile accident in 2003.? Since that awful loss, the group has continued to perform as a duo and is now back with a new video entitled, Knockin Your Heels Off which features Jodeci. Yep… you read right. JODECI is back in the game and totally stole the spotlight from H-Town!

I now pronounce this FLASHBACK Friday. Way before Cee-Lo came to his senses and decided to reunite with the group (Goodie Mob Reunion Concert Footage), there was a short documentary developed around the Goodie Mob which carried the name of their “One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show” project.? The entire Dungeon Family, including Outkast, participated in the video and I give the directors much props for putting all this great footage together. If you’re a true southern hip-hop head, this is one video that’ll make your day. Happy Friday!
Video ~ Goodie Mob Documentary (Part 1)
Synopsis:Goodie Mob, based in Atlanta, Georgia, is widely considered one of the founding hip hop acts of the Dirty South movement. Members Cee-Lo (Thomas Callaway), Khujo Goodie (Willie Knighton, Jr.), T-Mo Goodie (Robert Barnett), and Big Gipp (Cameron Gipp) make up the group, which has been functioning since 1995.
“GOODIE MOB”, as it’s written on their album covers, stands for “GOOD DIE Mostly Over Bullshit”. Cee-Lo notes in a song off the Soul Food album that, “[If] you take out one ‘O’ it stands for ‘GOD Is Every Man Of Blackness.’ ”
Its members were all born in Atlanta, and the group is based there with the rest of the Dungeon Family, a collective which includes OutKast and P.A. (Parental Advisory). Goodie was first heard featured on several songs from OutKast’s first album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik.
Cee-Lo was the most visible member of the group prior to his departure in 2000 (among other projects, he is now recording as Gnarls Barkley), while Big Gipp has made several rounds on other Dungeon Family members’ albums and a solo album Mutant Mindframe, and T-Mo and Khujo form a duo within the group called The Lumberjacks.
I ran across this convenience store surveillance video of a seriously intoxicated dude attempting to purchase a case of beer. He staggers his way to the cooler, picks up his twelve pack, but falls down and can’t get up. [I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!] A few customers come to his aid, but no one lends him a hand off the floor!? They all just stand and gawk at the man as he attempts to get back on his feet. I’ve never seen anything like it….and I don’t think it was merely alcohol that was influencing his bizarre behavior. You’ve got to see it to believe it.
Whitney Houston was left red-faced and unsupported after a strap on the back of her long silver gown snapped open midway through her live performance on Saturday night’s ‘X Factor’. The diva was in the middle of singing her hit, “Million Dollar Bill”, on the U.K.-based television show, when the strap suddenly popped.
The wardrobe malfunction caused Whitney to stop briefly and fumble with the strap but like the trooper she is, she didn’t miss a beat and continued on with her song. Whitney later shrugged off the incident, as she jokingly stated to host Dermot O’Leary afterwards, “I sang myself out of my clothes.”
