Keyshia Cole, Akon, & Lil Wayne performed at Summerfest 2008 in Sunrise, Florida last night along with T-Pain and DJ Khalad.? Keyshia looked pretty as usual and it seems like she’s gotten some dental work done.? T-Pain….well…he was just being himself!

T.I. covers the August 2008 issue of XXL Magazine. ?Inside the issue, T.I. addresses his federal gun charges and how his life has changed in the aftermath. ?He also explains why he chose to seek weapons and also why he doesn’t blame anyone for the decisions he made that got him in that predicament. ?In addition to the obvious questions about the gun charges & snitching, T.I. also told XXL that he feels that the beef between he and fellow Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo is all just a misunderstanding. ?

Barack and Michelle Obama appear on the cover of the Us Weekly hitting newsstands later this week, further establishing their crossover appeal as both political and entertainment figures. The magazine will feature a six-page article on the Obamas’ love story as well as an album of family photos. The cover is headlined “Michelle Obama: Why Barack Loves Her” and teases, “She shops at Target, loved ‘Sex and the City’ and never misses the girls’ recitals. The untold romance between a down-to-earth mom and the man who calls her ‘my rock.'” (Source)

Nelly held a press conference this weekend in Las Vegas to announce his new CD “Brass Knuckles.”? Jermaine Dupri, Akon and Sylvia Rhone (President of Motown and Exec. VP of Universal Records) were all spotted at the event.? “Brass Knuckles” will be Nelly”s first full album of new songs in four years is scheduled for release on August 19, 2008…and no.? There was no sign of Ashanti. 😕

Atlanta’s newest hotel held it’s grand opening celebration Friday night.? The W Hotel – Midtown is Atlanta’s 2nd of the brand and there are two others planned by 2009.
Frits van Paasschen, chief executive officer of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide ? the hotel chain that owns the W brand has determined that Atlanta has four distinct hotel markets, and W wanted to have a share in each.?
1. Perimeter caters to residential and shopping,
2. Buckhead grabs the business crowd and the well-heeled looking to drop cash at Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza.
3. Midtown is where celebrities come to party and lawyers entertain their clients,
4. Downtown attracts conventioneers.
I can honestly understand their marketing ploy, but the bar is what attracted the celebs Friday night.? Spotted at the opening were Big Boi, Atlanta Falcon’s Ovi Mughelli, V-103’s Ryan Cameron, Jazze Pha, Cee-Lo and several others.? Even Tomeka Foster’s ex-hubby Ryan Glover joined in on all the fun and free liquor.? I sure?The Whiskey Bar (located inside the W Hotel – Midtown)?will now be one of the many after work spots that attract Atlanta’s local elite.? Can’t wait to try it next week…? 😉
The beef goes on…and on…and on! Shawty Lo sent out a request seeking T.I.’s yearbook photo a few days ago and someone answered the call. Tip’s Riverdale High School photo was sent to WorldStarHipHop. Lo was shown the photo and had some interesting comments about Clifford’s high school swag. Sadly it appears that Shawty Lo was right all along. If you ain’t from the “A” let me explain…Riverdale is a LONG WAY from Bankhead! 😯 I guess the question has been asked and the answer has been given. Is this the end of the “Battle of Bankhead”?
