Who is Sasha Fierce? Contrary to popular belief, Sasha Fierce is not the gay dude you’ve seen performing “Put a Ring on It” step by step?in his?skivvies. ?It’s Beyonce‘s alter ego and title of her next CD, “I Am Sasha Fierce”. ?The promotion for the singer’s new CD will be bombarding us with the Sasha Fierce movement soon, which includes an official Website, MySpace page and Gift Shop.
Sasha has been very busy promoting the CD and is mad flexible as you can see in the following promo pic:
In related news, I spotted Sasha Fierce on Access Hollywood the other day discussing cooking and kids. In the clip of her upcoming 1 hour TVOne interview with Tatyana Ali, Bey is reminded about an old Access Hollywood video where she lists the top 3 things she wants to accomplish before turning 30. This list included winning an oscar, getting married, and having children. ?When Tatyani runs down the list, the look on Bey’s face is priceless!?To refresh her memory, they ran the old clip and afterwards Mrs. Carter laughs and replies:
?You know, I still would love to win an Oscar,? she said. ?The kids, I don?t know? In three years, maybe.?
Shakir Stewart, Executive Vice President of Def Jam Records died of an apparent suicide today. ?Details are sketchy, but WVEE DJ Greg Street, is currently dedicating his evening show to the fallen exec. Stewart, a graduate of Morehouse College, has been the go-to-guy for finding talent since his days at LaFace Records from 2000 to 2004, when he brought R&B siren Ciara to the company.? He also played an integral role in bringing Beyonce to the firm.?
He was last heard from around 2:00pm today. ?All of Atlanta is shocked by the news and my sincere condolences go out to the Stewart family.
Updated 1:00am ~?Def Jam Statement:

El DeBarge (born Eldra Patrick DeBarge), former lead singer of the family singing group DeBarge who had mild success as a solo act, was sentenced Wednesday (October 28th)?to serve 2 years on a cocaine possession charge. ?The Los Angeles Judge had little sympathy for the 47 year old former star, who?was still on probation for a 2001 cocaine bust, not to mention a series of warrants over the past year for domestic violence, vandalism and drugs, and gave his the stiffest penalty possible.
According to the district attorney’s office, DeBarge also has a second case pending, for violating his probation in 2006 with another drug bust. A hearing in that matter is set for November 10th.?DeBarge was picked up by authorities over the weekend on outstanding warrants.
Too bad…so sad. ?I guess good hair can go wrong as is evident in El’s mugshot photo. ?There is a 2nd undated mugshot under the cut showing El with short hair and a wide-eyed blank stare. ?A look that he’ll also be giving his future husband cell-mate. ?SMH…He’s way to pretty for prison.
Also peep some flashback footage of his group vs. solo career under the cut: Continue Reading…
The mother of William Balfour, the “person of interest” in the murders of Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother & nephew spoke up for her son on Nancy Grace the other day. ?She proclaims her son’s?innocence?and accuses Jennifer’s brother, Jason of selling drugs out of the house. ?Nancy Grace pounces in usual NG fashion and she and Mrs. Balfour battled it out on air. ?
In related news, police have found a gun near the location where the body of little Julian King was found that matches the caliber of the murder weapon. ?Forensic testing on the weapon will determine if it is indeed the weapon used in the murders. ?Authorities have also suggested that William Balfour may have had some assistance:
Although Chicago police have only one known suspect in the slayings of three relatives of actress Jennifer Hudson, some evidence suggests that more than one person may have been involved, law-enforcement sources said today.
Check out this clip from D.L. Hughley’s new show on CNN where he bravely attended a recent Sara Palin rally. ?D.L. interviewed several Palin supporters, some of whom didn’t even know how to spell her last name. He also appeared to be one of only a few Black people in attendance. ?This is the funniest thing I’ve seen this week! ?I’m definitely going to have to set some time aside for his show.
The family of Jennifer Hudson offered a $100,000 reward on Sunday (October 26) for the safe return of Hudson’s nephew, 7-year-old Julian King, who has been missing since?Hudson’s mother and brother were fatally shot in Chicago?on Friday.
?
The F.B.I. has joined the Chicago police in an intensive search for the boy, who also goes by the nicknames “Juice Box” and “Dr. King.”
Earlier on Sunday, less than 24 hours after her sister Julia?publicly pleaded for the boy’s safe return, Hudson took to her MySpace blog to thank her fans for their support and ask that they help in the search.?The post?includes photos of the boy.
“Thank you all for your prayers and your calls,” the posting, signed by the Hudson family, reads. “Please keep praying for our family and that we get Julian King back home safely. If anyone has any information about his whereabouts please contact the authorities immediately. Here is a picture of Julian and what he was last seen wearing. Once again thank you all for being there for us through this tough time.”
In a statement released Sunday evening announcing the reward, the family asked that all inquiries be directed to the Chicago Police Department, Area 1 Detective Division at (312) 747-8380. “Jennifer and her family appreciate the enormous amount of love, support and prayers they have received while she and her family try to cope with this tragedy and continue the search for Julian,” the statement reads.
On Saturday, Democratic presidential nominee and fellow Chicagoan Barack Obama reacted to Hudson’s tragic news over the weekend, according to?UsMagazine.com. Obama described the deaths as “heartbreaking” and said he was “trying to get a phone number to call her at this tragic time. She is somebody who has campaigned for me, she also lives in my community. So, we’re really going to have to … help her and pray for her and her family during this difficult time.”
Police have not yet charged anyone in the murders, but Hudson’s brother-in-law, William Balfour, who had lived at the residence in the past, is being?held by Chicago police?as a “person of interest” in the case. According to the?Chicago Tribune,Balfour, 27, who recently separated from King’s mother, was found at his pregnant girlfriend’s house on the South Side of Chicago several hours after the bodies were discovered, but Julian King was not with him.
Balfour, on parole after serving seven years in prison for attempted murder and vehicular hijacking, was transferred to the Illinois Department of Corrections on a violation of parole “independent of this investigation,” a spokesperson for the department told the?Tribune.?The spokesperson said Balfour violated his parole “due to the allegations made against him, that he is a person of interest in the homicides as well as the kidnapping.” (Source)
My sincere condolences go out to the Hudson family.
