I am soooo getting used to Kanye being a real singer right now! Use of the vocoder thingy is almost transparent in this new song and it’s the best one yet..IMO. ?Can’t wait for the album!! ?In other songs I’ve been listening to this week, Slim pairs up with Big Boi, Jay-Z reflects on Obama’s historic victory, Justin Timberlake joins the legions of vocoder users and Rick Ross drops a verse on on T.I.’s “Live Your Life.”?
Check out the new video for DJ Khalid‘s “Go Hard” featuring Kanye West and T-Pain. I’m glad they finally released the video cause I really like this song. ?Watching Kanye & T-Pain battle it out vocally while both using the vocoder thingy is pure entertainment. ?Don’t get me wrong…I like this song and all, but shouldn’t there be a rule or something that only one person at a time can use the thingy on a song? Just a thought.
You can’t ever say that?Kanye West?doesn’t try new things! In his new video for “Heartless,” Mr. West enters a world of animation. ?There are quite a few cameos from futuristic superstars, the Jetson’s, who are prominently featured on artwork in Kanye’s cartoon home. ?I hate to say it folks, but Kanye’s singing has started to grow on me. ?I know you like it too…don’t front!
Kanye also explained his decision to turn from hip-hop to pop in an interview with a Singapore news outlet. In his usual arrogant swag, Ye explained how his new style of music should be described as “pop-art” and that his goal is to be the greatest performer of this generation. ?He gives much love to his homie T-Pain in the interview and even shows off his singing skills without the vocoder. When asked about his experiences with the media, Kanye quickly pointed out the power of the blog:
My relationship with the media? O.K…That’s why I love having a blog because it’s like, BAM! I can say exactly what I want, the amount of stuff I want…and then it just goes out to everywhere else, it may end up on CNN.
That’s the greatest thing about having a blog. ?Before that…you would have to go through the media.
Dayum! Kanye’s just letting all the good secrets out these days. 😕 Peep the full interview: Continue Reading…
Check out a brief preview of Kanye West’s new Comedy Central show called Alligator Boots. ?The show is billed as a “Hip-Hop Muppet Show” and will be produced by?Jackhole Prods., the production company founded by Jimmy Kimmel, Daniel Kellison and Adam Carolla that was also behind Comedy Central’s puppet-centric “Crank Yankers.”
The project, which is under consideration for 2009, would feature music produced and performed by West and fellow rapper Rhymefest, both of whom are serving as executive producers on the pilot alongside Kellison. West also hosts the pilot; the idea is to have a different celebrity guest host for every episode, similar to the setup on the original “Muppet Show.” ?Kimmel’s brother Jon (“South Park”) is co-exec producer on the pilot. Kanye West had a hissy fit at the airport yesterday and decided to do a “smash & grab” on a photographers camera. ?Of course, being that it was September 11th didn’t help the situation. ?
West was arrested on suspicion of vandalism and battery, after an altercation with the paparazzi allegedly resulted in more than $10,000 in broken camera equipment. West’s manager was also arrested.
An eyewitness described the scene for?E! News: “Some time before 8, Kanye and a big posse arrived at the terminal. He got out and a bunch of paparazzi were swirling around him… Kanye had on a hoodie and was trying to get inside the American Airlines check-in area. The paparazzi got close and one of the Kanye security guys got into it with a paparazzi guy. It was a quite a scene and cops came. This all happpened while his security was whisking him into the terminal…He hadn’t made it to security. It was just a mess.” ?(Source)
Kanye has since been released and in true superstar fashion departed on his private jet! ?Like he really gives a dayum about all you mortals… 😆
