Monica threw her fianc?, Rocko, a huge birthday party at Straits Restaurant in Atlanta. The spot, owned by Mo’s cousin Chistopher Ludacris Bridges was packed wall to wall with all of the couple’s celebrity friends.
Derek Blanks, Shawty Lo and his wife, D.Woods, Kandi Buress (xscape), Jerry Clark (island def jam), Sheree Whitfield, Paster Troy, Young Ralph, Yung Joc, Jazze Pha….hell, even Dekalb County CEO Vernon Jones popped in for a piece of cake! I went, thinking that the birthday bash was going to be Monica & Rocko’s wedding reception. I’m sure you noticed that I still referred to Rocko as Monica’s fiance…well, that’s because the two haven’t eloped and I was angry for nothing. Monica cleared up the ‘secret wedding’ rumor and stated that B. Cox referring to her as Rocko’s wife is not unusual. They don’t think of her as his ‘baby momma’ and it’s a respect thing. Plus, she added that Bryan has been privy to intimate details of their plans for the big day.
The two lovebirds sat like the king and queen of the ‘A’ at the head of a table full of their friends and family but one self proclaimed king must have been home alone a bit too long cause he made a surprise visit to escort his queen home. Continue Reading…
I attended a listening party the other day that featured up and coming hot artists and decided to share with you a few of my video clips from the session. The first is Attitude’s single “Blow Ya Back Out.” It’s one of those songs you hear in passing that makes you stop in your tracks and say “What did he just say??” 😆 The lyrics may be a bit risque but it’s all good… dude made a song just for all us ladies who want their man to take control. Block Entertainment’s Gorilla Zoe is on a mission to be fit and fine in 2009. ?Zoe, who is preparing for the release his?sophomore album “Don’t Feed Da Animals,” has committed to a 12 week weight loss challenge appropriately titled, “Don’t Feed Da Animal”. His goal is to lose?40 pounds from his 230 pound frame.
I caught up with Gorilla Zoe recently and he gave me a little insight about the challenge. ?Since starting the new?regimen, Zoe’s lost 5 pounds, although he stresses that it wasn’t easy AT ALL!

My all-time favorite ATLien, Antwan “Big Boi” Patton was honored this weekend by the Collective Renaissance Guild of the National Black Arts Festival (NBAF). ?The event, dubbed “The Art of Change,” was a star-studded celebration of Big Boi’s collaboration with the Atlanta Ballet in “Big” and he was awarded the 2008 Renaissance Award for “Artistic Innovation”. ? In a?symbolic gesture of passing the baton from one generation to the next, Dr. Cornel West presented Big Boi the award after a crowd raising speech in the atrium of Mercedes Benz of Buckhead.
The event was hosted by Rashan Ali and Kenny Burns, while DJ Trauma kept the house rocking. ?Several celebs were also there to celebrate with Big Boi.
