T.I. hit the stage for another farewell concert this weekend but this time it was different.? This show was held on Tip’s home turf, Club Crucial on Bankhead Donald Lee Hollowell and had a special surprise guest.
Nope…you eyes aren’t deceiving you! Shawty Lo joined T.I. onstage during his performance of “Big Thangs Poppin” and they both shook hands and finally squashed all the nonesense.
Dem Bankhead Boyz back together again!
Lo even took a moment to apologize to Tip’s boo, Tiny for all of the negative things he’s said about her. Is it me or does Lo strongly resemble Jeezy is this pic? On second look…Nah! I think it’s just my lack of nutrition today.

Slim of 112 recently shot the video in Atlanta for his next single for his solo album “Loves Crazy”, which is in stores now. The new song is called Apologize and Slim is shown in the video serenading us in front of an all female band. Great concept for this smooth ballad!
“Apologize” ~ Slim
I so hate I missed the shoot…it was the perfect time for me to reshoot my lost Slim old school memory footage!? Oh well…Maybe next week!

Outkast’s infamous Stankonia studio was the location of an exclusive listening session Wednesday night. Jeron Ward and Rick Wallk, the super producing duo behind Royal Flush Ent. hosted a top knotch event and laid out the red carpet for up and coming singers, songwriters, producers, and music?industry professionals. Some of you may be wondering ‘who are these dudes?” Well, in case you’ve been under a rock or just plain in the dark, these two are the masterminds behind Big Boi’s recent grammy nominated song, “Royal Flush” featuring?Andre 3000 and Raekwon.
Just to refresh your memory…
I also found this recent Rolling Out video of Jeron and Rick describing how it felt to be nominated:
These are two really cool, down to earth dudes who work hard to make great music. I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more from them REAL SOON.
Danity Kane alumni D. Woods performed live in Atlanta Tuesday night. The show was held at Sambuca and was packed wall to wall with fans. Since I was only there to support my girl Dee, I had no idea that Janelle Monae was going to perform (I know I’m slow). Each performed two songs and Janelle was somewhat of a pleasant surprise….that is, until she jumped on my table and almost broke my camera! That chick is hilarious! Click Here to watch her performance (fast forward to 4:15 to see her ‘table dance’) 😆
I was live TWITTERing and filming at the same time. Check out a few of the pics my followers got during the show..
@JanelleMonae is up next… D. Woods totally rocked it out! 1:02 AM Mar 4th
Sound check takin way too long… Plus I gotta go to the ladies room and don’t wanna lose my seat. These Bastiids! 12:34 AM Mar 4th
Rick Ross‘ listening session for “Deeper Than Rap” was held last night at Artistry and the drinks and music flowed freely. I don’t really follow that whole Rick Ross/50 Cent thing so I decided to chill on the interview tip and let the other sites take care of that. I did however catch up with Killer Mike and Rocko, who both kept me more than entertained throughout the evening! We ended up turning the session into an ATL lovefest 😆
Check out my video footage from the event below:
Side Note: Can somebody tell me if Rick Ross represents Malibu in some way? He shouted out “Malibu and Pineapple” all night long….
Nearly a year after Big Boi tore up the Fox with his collaboration on the hip-hop ballet Big, his partner in crime Andr? Benjamin aka Andre 3000 will be hitting the stage in a newly adapted stage version of his Emmy award-winning “Class of 3000” cartoon series. The show originally aired on The Cartoon Network but they ceased production on the animated comedy after only 26 episodes. Now the Alliance Children?s Theatre will present the world premiere stage adaptation beginning this Friday (March 6th). In case you didn’t know, Dre is the show?s creator, executive producer and starred in the toon as the inspirational music teacher Sunny Bridges.? He also created a new song for every episode (five of which will appear in the stage play). When asked if it was difficult writing music for a younger audience, the ATL legend responded:
I wasn?t trying to water down the music aspect of the show just because it was for kids. You watch old ?Peanuts? or ?Fat Albert? shows, they weren?t necessarily kids? songs. On ?Peanuts,? you?re listening to jazz by Vince Guaraldi. I want to make sure that kids had something to listen to that wasn?t teeny bopper songs ? although we would do those, too, if they fit into the story. I wanted to give them a little jazz, ragtime, blues, funk music, with the hope that if kids heard those kinds of music later, they?d say, ?Hey, I remember this kind of song!? I thought that was fitting, since I play a music teacher. I also wanted to show how different kinds of songs, like classical music, could be reinterpreted in new ways, which is what I like to do with my other kinds of music. MORE
The music definitely isn’t watered down! It’s smooth, comfy and feels like home. Between this play and Big Boi’s Big with the Atlanta Ballet, these two dudes are dayum near unstopable! I can’t wait to see what Dre comes up with onstage! (Anyone got a kid they could loan me next week 😕 )
