T.I.’s new reality show Road to Redemption premieres on MTV tonight. I had my days mixed up and originally thought I missed it (I coulda sworn yesterday was Tuesday) so I searched for it last night and found the full episode. This first episode is really much better than I expected. PeeWee, the kid who wants to be a hustler, is forever changed by Tip’s strong advice.
T.I. and his youngest son Major are featured in the March 2009 issue of Blender Magazine. In the issue, Tip explains his reasoning behind their name choices:
?My kids would be the best representation of what I meant to this Earth. As long as they (are) able to fulfil their dreams, then I did something right. ?I want them to have high expectations. Ambition. And what better way than through their names? If people call you King, you?ll expect more of yourself.?
Tip admits in the article to being arrested at least 32 times. The 28 year old A-Town King, who is definitely not afraid of jail, also talks about how he’ll handle his upcoming year long stint which begins in March:
?Well, that depends on the facility. Some luxuries are available in some facilities that aren?t available in others. Some facilities have a TV, but you can?t watch it ?cause cats in there wild out so much. I?ll read the Bible a lot. Biographies, magazines. I don?t really read fiction. I read for information, rather than for entertainment. I?ll talk on the phone a lot. I?ll spend a whole day on the phone, checkin? on what?s goin? on, makin? sure things are taken care of. Ain?t a lot to do.? He says his fame won?t really make much of a difference: ?People are in awe at times about who I am. I can?t believe I?m in here with T.I., but that usually goes away in about three, four days. After so long, everybody just inmates.?
He’s a real stand up dude who has grown a lot. Check out this video I received yesterday from WorldStarHipHop of Mr. Harris giving a hilarious behind the scenes tour of Atlanta. From Bankhead to West End to the AU Center…he explains it all! Check it out below:
“The money f*cked me up? It might have…but I’d rather have the money f*ck me up than the streets.”
or maybe he does…who knows.? All I know is Jay & Dre City‘s “POLO” song featuring Juney Boomdata has been bumpin in the “A” and we can’t get enough of it…but I’m sick and tired of artists endorsing products that don’t give a dayum about hip-hop culture. T.I.’s ‘Swing Your Rag’ video never saw the light of day because of Louis Vuitton and Gucci protested but maybe Ralph Lauren will be a lil more accomodating.

Friday flashback this week is 112’s “It’s Over Now.” This song brings back hella memories. I was soooo in love with Q back then…and when he broke it down in front of Waffle House…oooh weee! *sigh* Excuse me while I watch this video 4 mo times!
T.I.’s wifey Tameka “Tiny” Cottle took a moment to chat with Sister2Sister’s Jamie Foster Brown the other day while preparing for the opening of her new nail salon. Tiny discussed her plans to focus on her business as well as her participation in an upcoming reality show which is rumored to also feature Toya Carter (Lil Wayne?s ex-wife), Kandi Buress (Xscape), and Joy Bounds (Lyfe Jennings’ baby mama). She expressed how Tip was hesitant at first because he’s such a private person and that he also felt that most reality show couples end up breaking up under the pressure. He eventually came around and supports her fully in the project.
I wonder if they have a title yet? I’m thinking ‘Superstar Baby Moms’ or ‘The Real Real Housewives of the A’…let’s see if they take my suggestions. 😆
Also, here’s a lil afternoon pick me up for you guys. Peep Tip’s midwest invasion as he and the entire Grand Hustle Family took over Columbus Ohio last week:
