Mike stopped by Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club yesterday (Jan 31) to promote his new Netflix series “Trigger Warning” and manage to strike a nerve with DJ Envy, one of the hosts of the popular morning show.
Throughout the interview, the artist touched on a few of the socio-political topics addressed in his new show, however when Mike began to share his thoughts on the educational system, he and Envy engaged in a verbal spar that lasted over 20 minutes!

Michael Render aka Killer Mike has landed a Netflix series!
In a new six-episode Netflix original series, the Grammy award-winning rapper and activist sets out to confront important social issues and misconceptions that impact the black community.
A different social experiment will be conducted in each episode. Killer Mike puts forward powerful, controversial ideas to help reshape perception in America with social experiments that include only spending money in the black community for three days, helping the Crips cash in on its personal brand by launching a line of soda, rethinking public school?s approach to education, and more.

Killer Mike and T.I. were the guests of honor today at Frederick Douglass High School in Atlanta.
The two superstars gave back to the community by organizing support from many of their celebrity friends to help students in the Douglas High band to travel to New Orleans to perform in the annual Mardi Gras parade.
The goal was to raise about $13,000 and after Mike, an alumni of the west Atlanta school, jumped things off with his donation, several others followed suit including Lil Jon, Tyrese, The Roots, Sza and more.

The Atlanta native recently shared his thoughts about the comedian’s decision to walk away from the streaming giant’s $500,000 offer and call for a boycott.
Mike eloquently states how if he were Mo’Nique, he would have totally taken the “lowball” offer, rocked the comedy special and THEN returned to the table prepared to negotiate.
